Perths new Super 14 team.

I am starting this thread to continue the discussion from this (http://forum.zgeek.com/showthread.php?threadid=27126) from page thread.

Rugby Heaven (http://www.rugbyheaven.smh.com.au/) (u/p: zgeek) are running a poll (http://www.rugbyheaven.smh.com.au/polls/form.html) on what the team should be called. I find some of the nominated names quite amusing. Here they are with their current standings.

The Pelicans - 12%
The Flamingos - 4%
The Swans - 29%
The Westies - 17%
The Pilchards - 9%
The Wombats - 27%

I of course voted for The Flamingo's. How could I resist such an amusing option? Swans would get confusing with AFL having Sydney known by that animal. Other than that, they are all rather rediculous, the Wombats being the best imho. What are others thoughts?

The speculation started a long time ago about which top line players would fill out the team, here is yet another article (http://www.rugbyheaven.smh.com.au/articles/2004/12/10/1102625536230.html) with someone elses opinions.

I am quite happy Perth got the team. With all the events they have lost over the last few years, it is good for them to get something in return.

I think the WA amatuer team is Perth Gold but I really can't think of a new name that actually sounds any good (I'm assuming that the new team will be the Western Australian *** instead of Perth *** which cuts down a air few options).

However one that stands out is WA Iron (ties in with the large amount of mining over there but most importanly it sounds TUFFASNAILS).
