my ipod crashed this morning. :swear:

ive got a 4th gen 20gb click wheel ipod model number a1059 and as it was playing a song this morning it just stopped. the screen hasn't changed its like time has stood still for it.

it wont turn off, and when you plug it into an AC adaptor it wont recognise that you are trying to charge it up, ive also plugged it into my ibook via firewire - nothing. itunes didnt recognise it and try to take over the world nor did the screen on my ipod change. i also plugged it via firewire to an XP pro box also using firewire - still nothing. i cant find my usb 2 cable for it to try that but i would imagine i would get the same thing.

only had it about a month, so im going to send it back but any help in the mean time would be appreciated.

Tried a power cycle?
mine locked up a few times, but cycling it always fixes the problem.

hold menu and pause down for like 10 seconds

ive just gone back to it (approx 6hours since it happened) and it was turned off. so i plugged it back into the AC adaptor and its now charging up. it seems to have reset it self (i.e the clicker noise is turned back on)

weird, im going to wait until its fully charged up and go through everything and get the updated software.

thanks for your help wolfpac.

and dozer, you are about as much help as something....errrrrrrrrr..........not very helpful. but i still want to have bum bum sex with you and let you taste my sex wee. :)

lincolnshire is a long way away babey.... but if you charge my railpass.....

apparently its a known issue with the 4th gen, and a bit of a wait on repair/replacements, get it seen to.

Well just keep the headphones and send the rest back so you can pretend you are listening to it.
