I recently got one of those DSO exploit, which set my homepage to yoursearcher.com and added various new bookmarks.

I used Spybot which apparently got rid of it, and a few other things. Now my network's a bit retarded. MSN wasn't working, but I fixed that by re-registering a few DLL's. However now I can't:

a) Login to Hotmail
b) Post form data to some sites
c) Send email (sometimes)
d) FTP (sometimes)

I've run CWShredder, HijackThis, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Panda ActiveScan and various other things over the system and it's clean, Spybot must've removed something it wasn't supposed to. I've also re-installed IE6, installed Service Pack 4 (for Windows 2000), and all the latest critical updates to no avail.

I think the problem can be narrowed down to the size of data going out e.g. I can FTP small files under about 2kb, and small emails, but if I want to send large files/attachments, or a large amount of form data, then it just won't complete the transaction.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You sure that you haven't just got the spybot anti-cookie defences set a little too high? Cause they default at the highest levels so knock them down a few notches and see if that helps out some.

It's an obvious answer, but after any spyware/virus/trojan issue I wouldnt want to use my PC without a complete OS reinstall. It just feels dirty.

Well I fixed it...somehow...I went to re-install TCP/IP and PPPoE, so I deleted Client for Microsoft Networks and attempted to delete something else, but then Winblows crashed, so I rebooted - now it's working fine.

:/
Huzzah. Thanks for all your help guys. :) Rep++
