As a group putting on a show for the Melbourne comdey festival, about 12 people will need somewhere to sleep for ~11 days, preferable no more than 30 mins (lets say) from Prahran.

A furnished holiday house is not neccesary. For example if someone knows of a backpacker in that allows the booking of an entire wing or something. Bare minimum could be a wharehouse with a bathroom. Some sacrifices can be made to keep costs down.

Random ideas appreciated. None of us have local knowledge.

There is a huge dan murphys in Prahran. This could serve your alcohol requirements for the time you are there. I know this doesn't have anything to do with somewhere to stay, but alcohol is a necessity dammit!!!

Is your 30 minute radius by car or by public transport?

You'd be looking at about 150 - 160 per week for backpackers accomodation around that time of year. What's your budget?

30 mins by car.

What kind of backpacker accomodation? We're not keen sharing too much as we will be arriving back late at nights n stuff.

I would suggest St Kilda or the city.

Most do either 4 person or 6 person dorm rooms... so you should be able to book out a couple of entire dorms. 30 minutes by car is to your advantage, makes the choice of suburb less of an issue.

Looks like we really need bulk. The number is up to 20 people. Hostel/backpackers is not an option.
