I had a customer who couldn't connect to his dial-up connection on his iBook. His other machine (OS-8) worked fine, but the iBook wouldn't connect in OS-X or 9. I deleted the location and made a new one, totally forgetting that OS-X stores all network settings in the location.
Now he can't connect to his OS-8 machine. When he does "Connect to Server" I think it just says "AFP://...[hostname]" where [hostname] is the OS-8 hostname. When he clicks connect, it just gives an error straight away.
I use Samba at home on my (PC and Mac) network, and haven't a clue about AFP. Can anyone provide and suggestions on what I can do to get it working again?
