Anyone read any of Erikson's books and love them as much as I do?
Synopsis:
A fantasy series set around several groups of people seemingly unconnected, however all working for or against the Malazan Empire, run by "evil" Emperess Laseen.
Each character has a fantastic back story, set of emotions, secrets and own mannerisms that make these books a fantastic read. The series was recommended to me as a "more realistic fantasy" and after being disappointed slightly in the first book, the second has made up for it oh so well. The world is split up into the humanoid races (Malazan, Trell, Jhag etc), the Ascendants (mortals who have reached a new plane of power, thus becoming demi-gods) and the Gods (all powerful, however able to be killed and corporeal in certain parts of the books), monster races (Soletaken, D'ivers) and the Elder races (founders of the current world and civilisations, usually almost as powerful as the Gods).
The only problem with these books is that you need to be at your utmost best, concentration-wise, to take it all in and understand everything these books have to offer.
Fantastic series, I recommend them to all to read.
Magic is split up into "warrens", differing abilities, such as healing, death, illusions etc, and
