[problem] post icons and pictures

1. unable to upload pictures (small .jpg files), it tells me it is not a valid file.

2. needing to chose a post icon before posting new threads.... i don't know if this was intentional... but its irritating the hell out of me.

Its not just one picture

its MANY pictures... i've not managed to upload a picture successfully in 2 days

I am also having the same problem, but only when I am trying to load a picture into a post, not a news image. I have tried converting the .jpg to a .gif and still get the 'file invalid' problem. This happens on every pic I try to upload to a post. I have over 700Kb left of the allowance so I don't think it is that.

ok, mighty weird. Is this happening in gallery.zgeek.com or on the forums. Can you possibly email me a screenshot?

It's only happening to me on the forums; I get a millisecond flash of something telling me whats wrong but too quick to read or get a screenshot of. It seems to be a white background with black writing but with a couple of blue inserts, like email addresses. As I say though, it's too quick to see or capture.

OK, I have finally managed to catch what it flashes up! I have e-mailed 2 screenshot .jpg's to 'administrator', as requested when I try to e-mail Pirate from his profile page. I obviously can't PM it to him :-). I do have a fairly old e-mail address for Pirate which I will try if this doesn't get through but I'll try this way first, as requested.
Hope it helps, how's Sapia supposed to post her weekly hair-do if we don't get it fixed soon! :-(

Pirate messaged me about a problem w/ attachments today. I think that I have just fixed it. It looks to have been a problem with the path that the forum was using to store attachments.

and3w - FYI, you could see the error message quite clearly by looking at the page source (use the source, Luke!) in your browser - that's what I used to troubleshoot the prob ;)

i too cant get it to upload any pics.
it says its working then done but doesnt actually do anything.

maybe its my firefox, its been doing strange things.

seems to be working OK for me now (IE though), cheers Tony & spingo

IE does get further than fox but half way through it locks up and spits out its dummy.
