View Full Version : Iraq coup foiled by US invasion
The eldest son of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was plotting to overthrow his father just as US troops advanced on Baghdad in March 2003, journalist Peter Arnett claimed in Playboy Magazine.
Uday Hussein, known for his ruthlessness and flashy lifestyle, had won the support of the leadership of his father's Fedayeen militia to overthrow Saddam's 35-year rule, according to an advance copy of the April edition of Playboy obtained by AFP.
The controversial reporter, who was fired by the US NBC network in 2003 after suggesting the US war plan in Iraq had failed, made the claim following an 18-month investigation in which he says he gained access to Uday Hussein's inner circle.

You have to be a fucking idiot to make any comparison between Bush and Saddam.

As opposed to the other one who liked to only do it on the weekends????
Uday was actually quite a charming fellow, and was known to be quite a great guest at dinner parties.

Before or after the killings?
Uday carried out the murder coolly and coldly, bludgeoning Gegeo repeatedly in front of horrified guests before finishing him off with a steak knife. President Mubarak later called the 6' 8" Uday a "psychopath."

Yes it is.
Yes it is.
It's an opinion. I believe you once said an opinion can never be wrong...
edit - Also, isn't a lie when you're being intentionally misleading? If you make an incorrect statement that is correct to the best of your knowledge, doesn't it make it a mistake rather than a lie if you're proven wrong? (And no Noddy I'm not asking you but the rest of the people who have a clue)

The facts supporting the opinion are wrong, what he said was completely subjective.

So? Doesn't make him a liar. It makes his opinion subjective, much like yours and mine.
Before or after the killings?
You lack a brain and therefore you can't tell when people are being sarcastic

Except mine has factual information, something yours and his do not have.
Except mine has factual information
yet another opinion

Seeing as I've yet to voice an opinion in this thread I assume you're talking about other comments I've made. Source please.
I'm not saying everything I've ever said has been backed up but I'd like to see an example.

On March 17, 2003, US President George W. Bush gave Saddam Hussein and his two sons 48 hours to leave Iraq, or face war. Uday sarcastically responded to the ultimatum by demanding Bush and his family leave the United States.
heh!
