The role of the Network Security Engineer is varied with the primary focus being the support and administration of the enterprise network and security systems reporting to the Team Leader, Telecommunications & Security.
In order to fulfil the technical requirements of the role you should be able to establish and manage the technical infrastructure environment and show a strong focus on customer service.
To be considered for the role you will need to exhibit sound knowledge and experience in the following:
Essential
Layer 3 routing principles including RIPv2 and BGP
Layer 2 switching principles including VLANs
Configuration/management of network devices (routers, switches, etc)
Security principles and firewall configuration/management
Efficient response and resolution to support calls
Documentation
Preferred
Skills in Avaya PABX management and VoIP
Knowledge of 3rd Party data feeds such as Bloomberg, Reuters and Swift
QoS configuration including Diffserv and 802.1p
HP Openview NNM skills
Any relevant industry certifications or tertiary qualifications in addition to the required experience will be looked upon favourably.
