Damn I'm getting old

Went to the eye doctor today and he tells me I need reading glasses. I used to have 20/15 vision. The rest of the afternoon was loads of fun because he dialated my eyes. I had told a friend that I would fix his juke box today so off I went with Thuvia driving. The first stop we made was to get some darker sunglasses because it was damn bright outside.

Well we walk in the bar and I have to have Thuvia read the manual because it look like gray lines on paper to me. I repair the keypad by touch and reprogram the thing with with her help.

Then we meet Wolfette for lunch at Denny's and they make fun of me for not being able to read the menu. Well my eyesight is back but I still don't like the idea that I will be wearing glasses.

Get contacts! Best thing I ever did... Next is laser surgery, but with only one valium as a pain killer I'm not rushing out to get it done. I need heaps more drugs than that if a laser is burning my eye while I am awake!

Wearing glasses is inevitable.

At around 40 the lenses in our eyes stop being able to flex properly and so focus between different distances.

Think of it as a sign of experience and wisdom.

Alternatively, you are turning into an old fart like the rest of us.

This hangover is making me feel old.. What happend to the me that could drink until the wee hours and then get up and go to work on 2 - 4 hours sleep?

Laser surgery doesn't hurt, they put anesthetic drops in your eyes. Valium isn't a pain killer, it's a sedative.
