Does anyone remeber exactly when they fell off the face of the earth?
I realize that they are back now on fox (if you call those cartoons) but for a time period there was nothing! Ever since I would say most of our parents were kids there were saturday morning cartoons and damn they peaked in the 80's as far as popularity and quality. Hell the networks had 1 hour specials before the cartoon season started to entice us with whats to come. But then all of a sudden nothing...

This also applied to cartoons after school, vanished forever...

here are a list of some memorable fav cartoons from both saturday morn and after school

He-man
Transformers
Gi-Joe
Chipmunks
X-men (80's and 90's versions)
Mr. T
Inspector Gadget
Garfield and Friends
The Real Ghostbusters

And always at the end of saturday morning there were Looney Tunes on ABC

Bring back the days of Ulysses 31 and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. Christ, even Droids was way better than the shit they show now...

I think everything went downhill after Teddy Ruxpin.

well, the late 80s early 90s shows i can't account for but all the old school hanna barbara cartoons have emmigrated to peru.

we got hong kong fooey, speed buggy, the great grape ape, the bannana splits, and that one with the pilgrim who is a ghost. the only thing i haven't seen is the kroft supershow but i never liked the bay city rollers anyway.

the downside is that it's all dubbed in spanish.

There are still cartoons on Saturday morning…….I admit I usually don’t get out of bed until 9 but there is always something on channel 7, they are just the new generation of cartoon. My favorite is The Weekends.

Yeah man. I mean, cartoons were cool when we were kids, but that's because we were kids. I hate when I wake up on a saturday morning and all that's on the TV is stupid kids shows and programmes for the deaf. What the fuck is that about anyway? Are deaf people nocturnal? Do they go to bed just around the time human beings are waking up? The answer to that question is this: I don't fucking know whether or not deaf people are nocturnal.

Worst still are Sunday mornings when all that's on the TV is stupid kids shit and religious bullshit for PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE AT CHURCH BECAUSE ITS SUNDAY. No church I've ever been in had a decent TV and I reckon for God's house that is a pretty fucking abysmal state of affairs right there.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MisterBishi again."

Actually, my church did have a good TV, but someone nicked it.

It was about that time I stopped being an altar boy and started watching a lot of television.

Anyway, all church was ever good for was rough sex and pocket money.

Cartoons should've grown with their audience. As the kiddies who watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as kids in the 80s grew up, they should've been treated to more gratuitious violence, chemical abuse and beastiality. Y'know, good old fashioned wholsome family entertainment, by jingo

the kids today wil grow up and say how good their cartoons were compared to the youth of their generation. Face it, everyone thinks the things they had as kids were better than what kids have today.

Although i do think kids have it too easy these days and should be reguarly beaten just for breathing

I grew up on:
captain planet hes our hero, gonna take pollution down to zero!

thats why im homosexual

no not really but the kids who watched "raggie dolls, raggie dolls, dolls like you and me" became very gay. in fact so gay they went to ABC shops and had the whole series.

I was one of those kids who grew up with the abc morning shows:

Astro
Battle of the Planets
He Man & She Ra
Voltron
Transformers
Real Ghostbusters

Yeee freakin ha!!!!

WTF is with that commercial pop crap music shit in the mornings now?

Bring back Battle of the Planets (and not the G-Force/Eagle Riders wannabe crap)

perverse.

kids get fucking garbage these days.. all that 3D horseshit shallow toons they watch.. the classics are gone, dead and buried. i can't think of 1 quality show that kids watch these days.. it's fucked, the whole world is fucked and going downhill. least im having a good fuckin time :D

and yeah.. music on TV should just be abolished.. it's beyond the point of recovery..

speaking of recovery, that show was awesome back in the day...

Wow!! I haven't remember Super-Ted for yeeaars and yeeaars!! That show was awesome!!

It seems that cartoons get crappier with each generation. I like very few "new age" (childrens') cartoons. But I still love Spongebob...he's so cute and naive! aww I want a giant Spongebob Squarepants!!
