An exhibit commemorating American soldiers who died in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars from Oct. 10, 2001, through Nov. 11, 2004, opened on Tuesday at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery.

The exhibit, "Faces of the Fallen," consists of 1,328 portraits - paintings and the handful of sculptures, based largely on military and press photographs of the soldiers - were composed by 200 artists from around the country. The pictures do not represent all the dead. The Pentagon has identified 1,520 service members killed in the Iraq war alone.

There are some grains of truth. The job of a soldier is to kill, or be killed. This is what they do and why they are in Iraq. And since death if part of the job, they should have expected it. It is not like they are shot while going to work in a local supermarket.
