[Suggestion] People who neg rep as revenge

Personally I find this annoying. I don't know about other people but a knee jerk reaction especially if you were relatively justified in neg repping someone. So I thought maybe there could be a cooling down time limit preventing you from neg repping someone who has neg repped you in the past 24 hours?

If you're happy to take +rep when it's given for inane, undeserved reasons, you should be happy to wear the odd bit of -rep too.

Anyway, does anyone *really* care that much whether a number next to their name goes up or down? I like the whole rep system as a bit of fun, but I'm not gonna fixate over the whole thing.


PS: I think I've only ever given out -rep around 3 or 4 times (hello Noddy), but I think I might give s3raph some just to see if can resist a revenge strike :p

ok i de-rep a fair bit cos im trying to use the system as its intended for not just to increase the size of my allready massive e-wang, and so many times ive been pm'd by tards being all "MAN WHAT THE FUCK LIEIKE YOU DE-REPED ME COS I STARTED TO FIGHT SOMOENE YOUR SO GUTLESS". and then the de-repping begins. Not just once to like get it out of their system. But constantly, whenever they could just to feel like they are being a big man or something. If the system is going to be abused, theres no point for it.

There is a limit to repping. You can't rep -/+ a person over and over. You have to give to other people before returning to that person. Also you can't double rep a post.

Yeah, I'm aware of those rules, I just don't like the whole revenge repping thing. People who don't derep people mightn't care, but like hazza said I happen to like derepping people when they deserve it. I mean if I derep someone for making a bad joke about paedophilia should I really be derepped for giving them what they deserve?

If you have a valid point, or if you have made a retarded remark then you should be repped accordingly. However those that slut themselves out, more power to them, that thread can be about whoever and whatever.

The best bit about the rep, is the comments. When people put why they appreciate what you've said or done. It's nice to feel appreciated. :)

I think I have -repped 2 people, both of whom I felt deserved it and I told them why in open threads.
I also like the comments..it's nice to know what people think of your point of view, the number doesn't really matter
