Now that i've gotten the attention I need....

I've been so addicted to WoW I haven't had time to promote my own website. As you guys know I have a small photoportfolio online, but I've recently updated (cosmetic stuff). I changed the name and threw up a nice banner. Tell me how you like the changes, comment on my photos, leave a message on the tagboard. My website is lonely and needs company (not many hits lately).

If you hate my pictures tell me what you dislike, if you enjoy my pictures, tell me what you like! If you're sick of me pimping my website, stop by my house and punch me in the gut. Also, i'm thinking of making select photos available for purchase, so I need some tips on which I should put up for sale, so throw me a few comments on that as well.

Edit: Also my birthday is on April 12th (It's my 21st) so consider commenting on my photo site an early birthday present.

My fav on the front page is the car dashboard. Looks sweet. Foggy windscreen though, what were you up to in there :/

Haha I did take it with my girlfriend ;) Seriously though, that was dust...it had been sitting in my grandparent's garage for 40+ years so it had a lot of time to build up.

Here's another shot of the same car...should I put it up on my site as well?

You'll be glad you know you won my 'favourite American of the hour' competition (between the hours of 12 and 1). You've won my respect (I know, it hardly seems worth it). Other contestants included:

Hehe thanks a ton! I took many of my earlier pictures with a Nikon Coolpix, but i've had my Nikon D70 for about a year now, so you can count that most of those shots were taken with it. I carry around my smaller, less expensive camera to places I think i'll be getting active (the beach, forest...etc) and my D70 goes with me everywhere else.

Salami on Rye...?

For some reason, my favorite is the "left turn only" picture. The sky is beautiful, and I love how you framed the shot so that you can only see the wires set stark against it. I also liked "chicago flowers" in your August archive.

Very nice work!

Thanks a ton, I'm glad to hear you guys are actually checking out the archive. I was really surprised "Left turn only" came out as well as it did, I got what I was shooting for and more. :D

A guy who worked for National Geographic for 24 years came in and spoke to my class...i asked him to check out my site and tell me what needs improvement and stuff...he teaches at the school so I hope I can get him for my advanced classes and I can definitely take whatever criticism he has to dish out because I've taken no classes for this whatsoever....heh...i'm excited to see what he says!

It's cool that you seem to have found your own style. I remember some of the older shots and am seeing some development here. This is coming from a tourist snapper so don't take it too seriously. ;) Btw do you trek around with a tripod a lot?

I have two suggestions for the site:

The first one is mainly to help you unless you already have some sort of index for your pictures: add some data (EXIF maybe) to the images. I know some gallery programs can generate pages with EXIF info automatically. If you don't want to reveal all your tricks that's fair enough but even having a private portfolio with all kinds of possible information should help you later on in your career. Personally I'd like to have even the GPS coordinates of the location in my EXIF data (I'm pretty sure it can be done).

The second suggestion is to create an identifier for each photo you've posted. Giving each and every photo an artsy name would probably be overdoing it but it'd might be useful if the visitors could refer to individual photos in an other way than just the URL. This should help people discuss your photos and it would be easier for you to connect the feedback with the images. Of course if you get 99% of your feedback as comments on the site then it's a non-issue.

I'd like to bring my tripod every time I go out to take shots, but many times i'll have friends along and don't want the burden of all of my equipment. I'm looking into a very collapsable tripod so It won't be a problem because I'm sure my photography as a whole would be incredibly helped by this (I find myself best at night photography, so long exposures are a must.)

I have EXIF information tacked onto all of the originals, but I ran them through a program to watermark and size them down to help me in selling the shots elsewhere. GPS coordinates sound really incredible, but hopefully I'll remember exactly where i've taken my shots!

Your identifier is a good idea, i'll have to enact that somehow.
