Want your very own custom animated avatar? Got a particular scene from a movie or TV show that you'd like immortalised in animated gif goodness? Well, you're in luck.

Post in this thread to let me know what you want made up and I'll do it for you. I've got a stack of TV shows, but if I don't have it, i'll give you instructions on how to send it to me.

No problems tiger. I forgot what the size limit was on unsubscribed accounts, though. I thought it was 64x64, but couldn't remember the kilobyte limit.

Let me know what the size limit is for you guys and from henceforth, i'll make one that's 80x80 and 500k (or there abouts) and one that's small enough for unsubscribers.

I would reaally like one of any of the nvidia graphics card demonstration models moving around (Dawn or Nalu or something) but I think that would be rather difficult, especially if you don't have an nvidia card.

The nVidia thing might not be the easiest as i'm an ATI whore.

As for the 'Our Man Chair' one, I actually made this very avatar (falling out the window and shooting the two uzis) a while ago, but as I wasn't subscribed at the time i had to compress it down to the point where it looked crappy...

64x64 and 23k. I had to make it smaller to fit it into the size limitations, and it's a little compressed (slightly grainy). Still, should do until you subscribe, right? :D

When I get home I'll burn Ghost in The Shell 2: Innosence - I can't remember if that was wanted for another avamatar or if it was just Imp who wanted it.

There's a couple of ways to do it, but this (http://www.riverpast.com/en/support/tutorials/convert/divx/gif.php) is probably the easiest, then use Animation Shop to resize etc. Beware, though. Converting the whole episode to uncompressed AVI or animated gif will make it huge, and unless you're packing about 4gb of RAM you're better off converting little chunks at a time.

I tried finding a relevant vid on youtube and google video and was kinda scared... all the vids that I saw were "goodbye rose" tribute things with soppy music and the like. Kinda spooky that people are getting so emotional about it.

Well, as you say, there's essentially two types of animated avatars.

One is the slideshow type (or it's cousin, the zoom in/zoom out on the same image), and the film clip type.

Both of them need some kind of Gif animator, and personally I use Jasc Animation Shop (part of the Paint Shop Pro suite). It's great because if I convert a video to raw Avi format, I can import it straight in, tweak it and then convert it to Gif format.

Personally I prefer the film clip type, purely for the types of content I can put into them.
