Coming up to the 2nd anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom ("mission accomplished" happened on May Day 2003) & apparently things aren't getting better for the Iraqi people.
Acute malnutrition among children under 5 has increased from 4% before the war to 7.7%. (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/apmideast_story.asp?category=1107&slug=UN%20Iraq%20Malnutrition)
Lack of clean water, untreated sewage & power cuts continue to plague much of the country. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4414291.stm)
“we spent 20 years on the run, and we had to move 17 times to avoid the police. I never imagined things could get worse but, since the war, they have.” says Umm Mohammed, wife of Naim Gumar who spent a decade as a political prisoner in Abu Ghraib prison. (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,7374-1560857,00.html)
Yes its true that there was an election recently & there is a new President & PM but on the ground, but after 2 years, things seem to be as bleak as ever. Will things ever get better in Iraq?

2 years after the war Iraq is still a mess
I didn't know the war was even over. We're sending more troops, therefore I believe the war is still on.
if they were smart, the p[lanners would have realised that unless they could stabalise the place almost INSTANTLY, with sanitation, security and so on, there would be such a HUGE base for fanatisism......
they fucked it up and its gunna take years to really improve
Talk about chronic Noddy bait...
Comments like that are even bigger bait for the troll.

If this was meant to be bait, I would've posted this as news. I'm hoping that making this a discussion thread will keep noddy away.

Profits for big American companies over there will improve, and that's the important thing.

Berserk, you are using statistics in your posts. According to your own posts, you had to go to 2 colleges to try to pass elementary statistics. Therefore everything you post using statistics I deem crap.
The 2 universities I've studied in have taught me enough elementry statistics to understand the measures of central tendency, outliers and statistical significance

Go fuck yourself. Seriously. You would rather have left Saddam there. If you didn't support going in in the first place then you have no right to comment on how well it has gone ,since if we followed you Saddam would still be in charge.

At least it taught me how to read. The statistics for malnutrition are for the whole Iraq.
