Oh I love polls. Please make suggestions in this thread if you have an idea for other stuff we can do.
The weekend is going to be extended to include Friday 9th and monday 12th as well so if you can, take an extra day or two off. Friday and Monday will be quieter days as we will be doing the majority of things on the weekend itself.
We'll let this tread run for a month and get all the votes in and sorted. When we are done, we will take the most popular suggestions and work out a schedule.
Some things we will be doing:
Every night we'll end up having dinner somewhere and moving to a pub.
There will be a do at the ZHouse hosted by Imp and cronies. Hehehe, I called the cronies. Start of the days will be a brekkie meet at some place yummy.

I can guarantee that Karaoke will just not be the same without Dwarfthrower's presence.
I'm not sure if I could participate unless I knew I was getting his rendition of Every Rose Has Its Thorn :D

I am no fan of Newtown, but if drunk enough I have been known to karoke. I also hold the records for:
- Quickest time between stating a song and successfully being booed of the stage (2.7 seconds).
- Voted voice most likely to curdle milk and kill demons.
- Most Nipple tweaking during a song.
A drive sounds like an interesting idea to. Can we do it in true Zgeek styl and have a BBQ without pants? IT will be like the ZRaid all over again :D .

Doods, another idea - doesn't anyone play fucken darts (real ones!) down here no more?! Y'know, Cricket? 501? Anybody?
damn - I've lived here almost 5 yrs and never used my custom made darts since I got here except at home!

I bags doing Hotel California by the Eagles while I am drunk. Last time I did that I broke 2 schooner glasses, made the band who was playing the song piss themselves laughing, and got cheered (or possibly jeered) off stage and got a free drink afterwards.

I think that dinner at Khan is a definate must. You can actually book out the back room so we can fit in loads of geeks in there!
Plus, all you can eat! come on!!! :D
I also like the ideas of putt putt, bowling, lawn bowls and a cruise/bbq in the mountains :)

I live in Newtown and i don't know of any karaoke. Maybe i'm too cool.
I vote bowling and drinking. They beauty of bowling is the fact you can drink whilst doing it, and the beer's cheap. Coogee bowls club is dirt dirt dirt cheap, but the Petersham bowling club has started doing barefoot bowls too, and Petersham is easy to get to.
After that we do a pub crawl from Petersham to the city via the Oxford tavern in Stanmore (titties), Newtown, Erskenville, The Rose on Cleveland St, broadway, all the way down George St, around the rocks, down to Wooloomooloo then up to the cross, watch some titties, then go to the karaoke bar on Elizabeth St.
I vote we do this on the saturday.

No, you're not too cool darling, it's just that Andrew is too sick for 10 pin OR lawn bowls; and I really wanted to sing to him cause he likes my voice.,,,
Um, I thought Newtown Hotel had karoke, I sang there like 4x.... then there's the other cool one with a C something up the road....
Um, I just realised - not everyone likes gay bars, ey? But everyone so NICE!
Us chicks like it (rabble rabble girls!) ...... okay, I can see how this isn't really popular - but whatever everyone else wants to do, .... cept *I* refuse to dance (w/o darts lol!)
Oy, okay: wherever you go whatever you do, were gonna go do it together :swear: :D

I have no problem with gay bars but there's so many good pubs in newtown, why waste your time where there's no chixors
The karaoke place on Elizabeth St is good, you hire a room and they bring beer to you.

I don't think pantless ZG males would be too much of a site; unless of course - we were actually *in* public or at my gay bar of choice.......

Putt putt is fun for about 10 minutes then the feelings of 'fuck when will this be over' set in. I've done it too many times.
You're thinking of Karaoke World, King_Crud, and it is indeed an awesome place, I had part of my hen's night there. Ended up being about $15 per person for 3 hours (not including alcohol) for a room for 8 people but you can get rooms for up to 20. The song collection is ridiculously huge. I'd be up for getting a room for a couple of hours if there was enough interest.

good idea, maybe we should book a large room, say for some time around 1am? That's when karaoke is at its best. I heard the beers are pretty well priced too.
I did putt putt two weeks ago at west ryde. It was fun for me and the girlfriend for the half hour it took but there were lots of kids around, and i don't like kids

I was thinking more like 11pm but can have a vote about it I guess. That's something we'd need definite numbers and no pikers otherwise it screws other people over for money. Could be interesting to diverge then meet up with non karaoke jerks afterwards.
The problem with putt putt is if you've got more than about 3 people doing it it takes for-buttfucking-ever.

It could be a cafe though

Anyway, I think there are more than 2 karaoke places on Elizabeth, but I've just had bad experiences...

I spent 6 straight hours in a karaoke bar in Wellington as a primer so I'm totally ready for this. I don't recall karaoke world being that expensive but I was only drinking wine ($16 a bottle) so I can't vouch for that.

was that the karaoke bar on the main bar strip, and you have to walk up many stairs to get in? That was the place where my previous avatar of me singing was taken. I was sooo drunk

Nah that's Club K but I did spend a few hours in there one night too, it was pretty rad. The 6 hour stint was at the Blue Note Bar on Cuba street - dingy and non-crowded with whorehouse red lighting. The people there were really nice though

Since doing karaoke when other people are continuing the pub crawl might be a separate event requiring a booking could we perhaps get a separate thread for that?
