Just got the first season of Veronica Mars off a friend of mine. Holy f**king shit, that show ROCKS! Up to about episode 7...and I'm taking the day off tomorrow to watch the rest of it :)

Well I'm now only an episode behind what the US is showing. Veronica Mars still rocks, but I have a few nitpicky bits and pieces (for those who haven't seen that much of the show, there may be spoilers ahead:)

- Logan / Veronica - I don't see what the big deal is. There is a HUGE following of people on the 'net who are firmly convinced that Veronica and Logan belong together. I just can't see why. Logan has some rather obvious mental issues, and is just a really, really nasty person to boot. Why would Veronica date someone like that?

- Duncan - He just seems like he's filling in for someone else in all his scenes. We don't know all that much about him and what motivates him...I think they either need to get rid of him or give him some serious screen time.

- Wallace - That dude is cool. Hopefully he'll be back in the series soon.

- The school bus crash - Has it definately been established that the "stunt man" rigged the bus with an explosive?

Right. Am up to the 3rd last ep, but can't watch it until tomorrow because my gf is going out tonight (and we watch all good things together)...

But this show is extremely good. Not as good as Buffy, but still very entertaining.

Can't wait for the finale.

And yes - I never forgave Harry Hamlin for sleeping around on Gracie in L.A. Law. ;)

PS: Haven't read right through the posts here because it looked like spoilers were well and truly afoot.

that poker game was cool. I love Logan and Weevil sooo much, my fave characters in the show besides Veronic. :D

I'm not sure if you know comics at all, but if there was ever a screen version of "Deadpool" produced, I reckon he's do a greart job as the sardonic, wise cracking merc.

I don't know what it is, but I reckon Duncan is a twat of a character.

"A few weeks ago, it seemed that one of the sure bets for programming next season on the new CW network was the high school private eye drama Veronica Mars. The show has been highly praised throughout its two-year tenure, but never drawn much of an audience; although it had done a bit better on Wednesdays prior to the return of American Idol.

But things don’t look so good for the show now in the wake of the March 23 announcement that it would return to its old 8 p.m. Tuesday slot April 11 (UPN-Ch. 30) for the remainder of its season. That puts it right back in a horrendous position, airing against CBS’ latest breakout hit The Unit and Fox’s consistent audience winner House.

Sadly, Veronica Mars may soon join Arrested Development as one of those programs that just doesn’t work in today’s commercial TV environment. Despite Kristen Bell’s wonderful portrayal in the lead role and stories that have been consistently timely and thoughtful, shows just can’t survive with audiences of less than three million weekly, unless 99 percent of that figure is between 18 and 49, and even then it’s unlikely."

Veronica Mars became one of my favorites with this scene (sorry if my memory is bad):

Some jock assholes are picking on an unpopular girl, who is about to cry. Veronica walks over and says something that humiliates the jocks, who scurry off. The picked-on girl gets all starry-eyed and says, "I can't believe you did that!" Veronica looks annoyed and exasperated and says, "I can't believe you didn't."

That moment alone is totally opposite the teen drama cliche. (which would be Veronica then comforting the girl and becoming her best friend.) I love this show.

And yeah, Jambo, I liked the ending too. :D

I was just going to post a comment saying I think that Veronica Mars is coming back. I saw the ending of S 2 and I have to say that they have to do season 3...they just can't leave us hanging like that..

Yes, it's sinced been confirmed as returning.

Rather than one entire season arc, which has happened during the show's first two seasons, there is apparantly going to be three 6 - 7 episode story arcs (including a follow on from the Rapes of Graff episode in Season 2, as Veronica will end up in Hurst University for one reason or another).

They must be making budget cuts - neither Teddy Dunn (Duncan) or Tessa Thompson (Jackie) will be returning.
