I am very much into photography, and now can get my Black and white film developed :).

By silhouette, what do you mean?

I just took that as getting someone to pose and take a picture of their shadow... but I think I'm stupid.

Ahhh good!

I thank you for clarification. I did have another question, but after reading "6. Basic editing such as cropping, levels, white balance, colour correction, brightness are permitted.", I dont think I could use dark room effects.

I'll get cracking on an entry!

Yeah, by limiting the photoshopping (or actual dark room effects) we are keeping the skill in the photo taking, subject choice, light, composition etc rather than someones ability in photoshop. :)

Not particularly THE shadow.

"An outline of an object or person against a contrasting background."

So you would actually be taking a photo of the person, just that THEY are IN shadow.

So who wants 300 rep points?

Pull out your camera and start shooting!

Have we got many entires in yet?

I predict a poor number of entries with this theme...

I spent last weekend shooting my little Sister's graduation and other happenings. The theme is a hard one because of the 'outline' aspect...

nah not many, you are correct. I personally thought it easier than last month (seeing as we have a sunset every night - just find an object that has a cool shape and shoot from the opposite side to the sun).

I've been trying to take a decent picture with my and my parents' digital cameras, but without a manual iris it's hard.

I would love to join up.

I took this picture last Sunday evening. My girlfriend and I drove out to the coast (about 15 minutes away) to Del Mar Beach in California. I've come to this beach since I was just a baby, watching my dad surf. Before the Establishment A.K.A. "The Man" came down on everyone, there used to be bonfires going into all hours of the night, with lots of bikers and stoners getting loaded and playing acoustic guitars together nonstop.

It's not the same place, it's ritzy as a motherfucker, but despite the rich arrogant fucks, it's still a sanctuary to me. Some things you just can't take away from a person.

I would be honored if you included this in your monthly competition. Last months competetion was amazing and the winners pic was no doubt the shizzy. Had it as my desktop for a few weeks... the colors just popped in that one.

Good work. Will include it in this months entries. Remember next time to email it to me so that the submissions remain anonymous. :)

And for everyone else (especially those who *voted* for this theme) lets see some photos!

:)

Awesome, TY. I'm sorry about the not emailing thingy. Now I know. I've raked my swollen testiclats across hot coals as a gentle reminder. I may not forget for another month at least. :swear:
