Right...so I was thinking that perhaps we should use this forum for the greater good.
I was thinking we could put together a workshopping group who could come together every week or two and help each other with their work. This would assist not only with the quality of people's work, but hopefully, would also make us write.
The group would have to be online-only due the the scattered nature of the forum participants, though I'm sure if there are a number of participants who live local to one another they could suss out a non-digital meeting and I, for one, would not be offended.
Now what I'm going to need assistance with is ideas for how we can do this - I have a cam and netmeeting and I think that's kind of easy, but we could equally do it via IRC or some such. IRC, however, I am not so familiar with.
What I am saying is: IDEAS WELCOME.

I'm down with that. I've gone from being a plumber to being a part-time fishing magazine editor (and staff writer) in another country on little more than a whim and as such i'm going to be doing an awful lot of writing from now on. The computer and website are still in the process of being set up but i'll check back here in a couple of days hopefully with an idea or two on how I can be of some practical assistance.

OK...I was going to see how much interest we got, but looks like we're it...
What night/weekend day suits all 3 of you?...
I can do most Thursday nights, Friday nights (drunk), most Saturdays and most Sundays...Of course, as I said I am no good with IRC and if we're IRCing then I'm going to need help (yes, I choose to remain ignorant)...

I say we get organised for NEXT thursday.I have good news and bad news on the Thursday front...
GOOD: Most Thursdays I'm clear.
BAD: But not this coming Thursday (Star Wars LAN all night preceeding the grand RotS watching).

I gather you shan't be attending the premiere then? Cos you'd be a day late.
And hells yeah Star Wars LAN, I put out the call for that to some of my friends, but most of 'em whinged!

I'd be up for it, I live in Sydney and am working on my first book.
Also, I want to become a writer for a game magazine as Im sick of working for Woolies and trying to find a job in IT is just impossible for me.

I am not expecting the film to change between Thursday midnight and Friday 10:30am, except that, exactly like the day I watched Attack of the Clones for the first time, I will have played Jedi and Star Wars based computer games for most of the preceeding night and I will be vibed as hell.
To keep things remotely on topic, I'm also in Sydney and I'm also working on my first novel as well as my second, third, fourth and fifth novel (really trying to focus on the first one though) as well as my website and various mini-writing projects.

Just a quick update from me too, I've been asked to write a 3000 word article for Mess and Noise (not sure if you're familiar with it) on Radio Hauraki (http://www.cwgsy.net/private/offshorepirateradio/hauraki.html)
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
I'm approaching it from the point of view that with the advent of the internet and such, access to music and information is taken for granted by younger generations. Their story is incredibly inspiring, and one that involves my mum's ex-husband (Rick Grant, who was washed overboard the day they got their licence to broadcast on land)

I know what you mean. How hard is it to stay on the one storyline!!!! Then you start to get all these cool ideas for other stories, and you go off and do them, and when you return, you have to start from scratch as your train of thought is completely gone.

I'll be up for this eventually. Need to get my ideas together and actually find some time to scriptwrite, but once I get going I'll join in (unless its an exclusive no-Sinwah group :D)

I wouldn't mind get in the action except I can't do the IRC thing due to no Internet at home, however e-mail would be good for me.
I'm currently writing a new story which is about a guy wrongly accused and sent to work as a terraformer on Titan but gets tangled up in a big conspiracy.
I have the ideas and would be more interested in logical development of the ideas.
I've written the first two chapters already (in one night) but just need to tidy them up a bit. They're only leader chapters in the sense that the first leads the reader into the world and the second introduces the main character Dante.
Much of the writing has been flow in that I've not had any logical development of my idea but the story seems to form itself. I seriously doubt it's the correct way to write but it seems to work and is pretty much the way that my story here (http://forum.zgeek.com/showthread.php?t=32038) was written. I've never been one to follow rules anyway. :D
