Due to some recent 'lady troubles' (even though I was done wrong by?), I was convinced by her and another friend that I should "probably talk to someone". I was a bit dubious at first, but bit the bullet about 4 weeks ago and made an appointment.

After only 4 sessions, I've noticed a difference. I was surprised at how quickly he got to the root of my problem (only took him half an hour) - I don't know if that means I'm shallow, or he's just really good.

Having someone to tell all your problems, fears, hopes and dreams too can really help. They basically wrap everything up into an organised package and say "This was you then, this is you now, this is where you want to be" which is the starting point for change.

Anyone else ended up in therapy? How was it for you? How long did you see/have you been seeing your therapist? Did it help your relationships?

I see my therapists, Dr Jack Daniels and Dr Jim Beam every Friday night. The sessions are expensive, but it's worth it. They have recently referred me to a Dr Smirnoff as well.

I reccommend anyone going through relationship problems or going through the aftermath of the breakdown of a relationship attend some form of counselling.

In my work I see the effect of unresolved issues affecting peoples judgment and ability to function property daily and the difference in the before and afters and the wills and wont's is amazing.

If you have hopes of rescuing your relationship then try and get your partner to attend too if it is all over and you are coming to grips with the aftermath it can do you nothing but good provided the counsellor is good and does not merely offer a poanacea for the symptoms rather than helping you address the cause of your difficulties.

Good luck to you

I think we must visit the same doctors. I usually get a prescription for a kebab at around 2am as well with a repeat for a bacon and egg roll at about 10am.

Yes I'm a regular late night customer at the local chemist (dodgy kebab vendor). I'm having a problem though...sometimes the medicine doesn't agree with me and I end up driving the porcelain bus.

I think for people who for some reason just can't identify their problem or have no idea how to solve it or suffer really bad anxiety when trying to solve problems, therapy can be very useful. You're basically paying someone to look at it from an objective point of view give you their opinion and then you can use and not use that information as you see fit, hopefully it helps you unravel the horrid web you found yourself in. Most people manage this on their own just fine, but some of us have a little trouble. Everyone has their aptitudes and weaknesses :P

I see these doctors as well. I don't see Dr Smirnoff though. I see various doctaors who all specialise in the beerian methodology.

It seems to work well
