I first noticed this problem? last night whilst browsing the pr0n forum (changed to zgeek porn theme), and again today in the admin forum (zgeek matrix theme i think?). I've not looked many other places, and frankly I'm scared to.

Why the hell does my theme change depending upon forum? I use just your ordinary basic default theme, and I quite like it!

What the hell? is this intentional? is there a way to stop it?

its a feature of VBulletin. basically you can set subforums to over ride with a preset theme.
