Just wanted to let any interested geeks know that the Sydney Writer's Festival starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday. I will only be attending the Sunday lectures thanks to Uni and work commitments, but I went to a few different things last year and they were all really good.

For more information, see www.swf.org.au

Brilliant. I'd forgotten all about it!

+rep for you, Girl.

I'm really, really interested in one of them which is on Tuesday night, but I'm busy already which sucks arse...

I'm keen to go to other ones, but this one (the new writing one) looks quite interesting indeed...

What are you going to?

Art on the Rocks is also next weekend, worth checking out if you are in the area.

I have a dinner and cocktail party to attend on Saturday night so I will probably not be in the mood for the earlier Sunday lectures :)

At the moment, I plan on attending:

"The Art of Travel" at 11am: I saw Robert Dessaix last year and he was absolutely brilliant. If you've never read his work, you're missing out.

"Another Country" or "Jodi Picoult" at 12:30: I haven't decided on which lecture I'm going to. "Another Country" sounds excellent and I love David Malouf's work and would like to see him speak but I'm guessing that it will be pretty crowded.. it's also in a different building from my 11am lecture, which finishes at 12:30, and I'm not sure if I'll make it there on time.

Then I'm going to "Henry James" at 2pm, because I'm an obsessed Henry James fan.

I was also keen to go to the seminar by the author of "The Lovely Bones" and to the Iraqui war one (I think it's on Wednesday but I could be wrong) but unfortunately, I have Uni instead and I can't afford to miss any other classes :(

If anyone is planning to attend any of the above, look out for me -- last time I went to one of these things, I was the only person in the audience under the age of 50, so I stuck out like a sore thumb :)

Hmm...Well, it's the last day of the Festival and so far this week, I've seen my work, dance class, a rather good play and my eyelids...

It's been a busy week...I'm not even convinced I can get to any of today's activities because I have work to do...

This is what always happens... :(

I had a big night last night, woke up this morning, realised that I was too sleep-deprived and seedy to spend six hours travelling to and from Sydney and went home to sleep instead. Hope that anyone who went had fun though :)
