Ok, i wanted to post this cuz i'm a film major, and i've really been itching to film something small for my own purposes and for practice with editing. Although this doesn't exactly meet the "writing" requirements, i feel as if this is the right forum to post my idea since i first write draft after draft of my short video until it is perfect, or i get enough of an idea to film it....so here goes...

ok...so here's my prelimary rough draft on the basic plot for my lil video project i want to pull off. it's hopefully gonna be like a music video....

"Fade in from black (silence) of a broken spirited male drawing a portrait of his love. Focus on the concentration on his brow and the passion in his eyes. this part will be shot in black & white. over his shoulder, peer at the half drawn picture of a girl sitting on a ledge smiling and laughing. zoom into the photo and transition it to that point in time where the picture was taken (almost like a flashback basically). notice how happy and full of life she is. cut back to (B&W) the guy's room littered with half drawn pictures and him pacing back and forth. transition again to the girl possibly reading a book or writing, just looking naturally beautiful. cut back to the B&W and the guy just lying down with his sketchings lying all around him. shot of him suddenly sitting up and grab his sketch pad and pen. transition to that point in time when the guy and the girl are together and happy and cuddling. end with in (B&W) a shot of the guy with a look of satisfaction because he finished his masterpiece. tilt down only to find the words "i love you" written down on an otherwise blank page."

I'm happy with this staying in the writing forum. Writing for movies or TV is, after all, still writing. Even if there is no dialogue.

I like it. It's short and looks like it could easily be filmed on a limited budget, but you would need fairly decent actors because the emotion of the whole thing will pretty much rely on their unspoken performances...

That being said, at least all of the actors will be under-50-word characters. ;)

thank you. yes definitely it's going to be quite short, i'm thinking of using it to a song or such and the actors themselves are two people that are actually in real life quite crazy about each other so hopefully, the emotion i want to capture will be naturally there between the two.this is more for practice with adobe premiere elements so i do not get rusty with editing and filming and such. and hopefully if it is good enough i can show it as a short piece at the local cafe during the summer that i attend regularly.

haha if it's good enough i could send it over to wherever i need to and if you guys decide it's good enough to show, then so be it. maybe we should have a short video competition like we do with the photography competition.

now officially a chick-flick. abandon it now.

get some cars, guns, explosives, pyrotechnics and loads of bareknuckle fighting with lots of naked chicks, that *should* solve the problem.

:p

awww well thank you very much. haha, one would think that'd be the reason to do the video (get into someone's pants) but alas, it is not. it's just something i need to get out, based on someone, but overall an attempt to make a video myself. i also wanna make girls go "awwwww" .brings out the "sensitive" side. then i can take em to see star wars haha

good luck with it mate, and then in 20 years when you are re-releasing the re-release that has been digitally enhanced, remember your old pal that teased you on the internet and think of him fondly.

now it wouldnt worry me if someone made a film to get into my pants or to get me to see star wars with them - although i do have a bf and i've already watched episode 3 twice
