I dont typically read publications.. getting all my info / reviews etc from the net.

having said this.. is there any good Australian compy magazines worth buying? I mean most magazines are full of shit, and every second page is an add.. but hey maybe they arnt _all_ like that.

something with hardware / software reviews.. networking tips.. doesnt treat the user like too much of a dumb fuck OR get too elitest..

anyway just curious. cheers guys.

I dont typically read publications.. getting all my info / reviews etc from the net. That pretty much sums up why i haven't bought many if any techie magazines in the last 10 years, news is usually a month old by the time it hits the newsagents, and magazines like APC (oops i think they might sponsor zgeek.. so this isn't my opinion it's a mate's opinion, oh hang on, banner ad says PC User, so maybe they're not..) are at least 80% advertising, which puts me off paying the $7 or so that they were charging last time i checked. But hey i'll watch this thread, maybe some of the mags are better these days. Oh and there's also those tacky mags like T3 that combine tech with :tits:

Like the good Frau said... why pay money to read things you read about for free online a month ago.

Check out Atomic magazine.

Their website is www.atomicmpc.com.au

You can just pay for an on-pine subscription if you want.

The slant is heavily towards overclocking, modding and graphics/gaming.

Atomic is good I agree. Started buying it a few months back and have been doing so without fail since. Considereing a subscription to the pulp version so I dont have to track it down at newsagents.

Can be very gaming focused at times however which is not my preference in such a mag. None the less the hardware reviews are good and they keep on the ball with latest tech news.
