I consider myself well read in sci-fi and fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the D&D type but I get my read on in a major way.

I am up to book 7 in this series and for the life of my can't figure out why the hell I'm enduring this mess of shitty writing, massively convoluted, yet uninspiring plot and dull, lifeless characters.

I have had -many- people over the past five years or more encourage me to read them, I started about 4 months ago and have gotten this far. People tell me it "starts getting good" about book 8. WHY THE HELL DO YOU READ 8000 PAGES OF RUBBISH FOR THE GOOD BIT?!

If anyone is a fan, tell me in clear, uncertain terms why I shouldn't delete the fuck out of these books from my PDA. Cause god, the baby jeebus and Queen Elizabeth the Second are all telling me to just step away.

*laughs insanely* forget it, after book 4, he clearly went nuts and lost the ability to be able to finish the story adequately. I read up to Path of Daggers, and by the end of that book I decided that continuing reading would be a waste of time.

I got up to number 6 and gave up. I don't have a short attention span or anything, but that series really

With the Wheel of Time, you got to remember one thing.

1-3 = Awesome books
4-6 = Average books
7-9 = Crap Books
10-12 = He is trying to pick the quality back up for the end of the series at 12.

i realised by about book 5 that the story was incredibly long-winded with so many sub-plots that an entire book might only cover a few days of the story, but now im up to number 10 and will probably keep reading just to see what happens at the end :]

I thought the books were good but I stopped at book 7. Thought I would wait till the series was finished before continuing. It might be a different story when I start reading them again though......
