Ok, well i'm pretty much just after some advice here. I am at Murdoch Uni in WA studying games technology right now. Enjoying it greatly and having much fun.

I am a little concerned as in what the hell I can do with a games tech degree. Who would want to hire someone that can make and play video games?

I've asked myself this question loads of times and still cannot think of one local job. (I assume there are no game developing companies in Perth, maybe Aus?)

So if anyone can help me out that would be good, just who would employ me?

Awesome, I always wanted to become a waitress. Think it would be out of my league to manage the till though?

Games companies in Perth

http://www.superfurious.com/
http://www.drewfx.com/
http://www.bungarra.com/
http://www.dogmelon.com.au/
http://www.hypercube.com.au/

I would advise against starting your own company right away. Try to get some experience under your belt first and above all... MAKE CONTACTS. :)

Edit: Here is the fullish list of Aus developers (http://www.sumea.com.au/sdevelopers.asp) you will more than likely have to move to get your first job but alot of people do and manage to make it back to their home town... eventually.
