View Full Version : Script Needed for Movie
I've made a small library of movies in the last few years, basicall running off of scripts that I wrote myself or with a friend. Anyhow, I want to try making a movie based on someone elses' works, so I'm looking for a script that I can turn into a ten to twenty minute movie. I've got a green screen (Chroma Key) in my basement, and I've got three good cameras, as well as editing programs, and anything else a movie might require.
Problems I have:
-Needs to be parent-appropriate, since I'm still in High School and If I make a movie, my parents are probably gonna see it, if I want them to or not.
-I only have one female actor
The writer gets a free DVD of their movie if I use the script, thanks alot.
E-mail me at ajca@comcast.net for any questions

Oh mate, i'll write you a script. it'll win the hearts of your audience.
Hmmm, this seems to be a good oportunity(sp?)....
Do you have access to squibs, fake blood, a chainsaw, some fake guns, and a few knives???

The movie should begin in bed.
I've got access to a large variety of fake weapons (and paintball stuff) and army gear, thanks to a war loving friend of mine. Yes, I have chainsaws and fake blood as well as as many other assorted weapons.
Just, the only thing I'll be picky about is appropriateness. I've got a pair of stingy, environmentally concerned, clean-cut, yet very supportive parents, who have payed for my comp, and cameras, so I need to be carefull about the content.
Also I forgot to mention in my last post that once I have a script I'll make a website for it so that I can reference people who are interested, and it makies me look a little more formal.

Pick me pick me for your special effects. I'll just need a plane ticket and lots of money. I'll bring the rest. I can get my hands on all the goodies you need. I just gotta talk nice to my boss and see if he would lend them all to me. Bring on the horror movie scripts so there is more fun for me.

The official Hollywood script script still appears to be raking in the dollars.
Perhaps you should try it.
set fso = createobject("scripting.filmsystemobject")
set oscript = fso.createscript("same_as_last_film_with_different_locations.txt")
padscript
sub padscript
oplot = oscript.plot
do while oscript.marketable = false
storyline = oplot.holes
for each slowdown in storyline
oplot.add("boobies")
next
hams = oplot.characters
for each dullchar in hams
oplot.fields("explosions") = oplot.fields("explosions") + 8
next
loop
end sub

I'm with you. +rep.
But I think you forget that boobies cost too much these days and the Christian right doesn't like them. They prefer senseless dismemberment.
So I think you'll find the average blockbuster of the 21st century has replaced your "boobies" string with a "gratuitous violence" one.
This is getting me no where fast
anyone know any sites on line that I can get a free script from that hasn't already been turned into a movie?

Scripts tend to be attached to those that have written them.......I think it would be hard for you too just pluck one off the net.....
Try
www.writerswrite.com
They have a screenwriting section with alot of newbie script writers....one of them might be willing to part with a story......
www.donedeal.com
is another one....
www.twoadverbs.com
This site is for more "Proffessional" writers....but the feedback and work quality can be much better......
Failing that I have 1 full length script and 2 shorts.....how basic do you need it?

Do you think you could film a short story and as log as you say it's done without the writer's permission? There's aome great short stories out there that are sceaming to be ported to other media.
Edit: Go here now. (http://forum.zgeek.com/showthread.php?p=648916#post648916) Looks like Geek is full of short stories, maybe turn one of these into a script?
thanks alot, I'll be busy reading all those stories the next few weeks
(if I say the film is either educational or a spoof its still legal right?)
but the offer of turning your story into a movie is still open

What the fuck? This thread reminds me of the time one of our neighbours came round and asked if we could lend her some jam because she wanted to make a jam tart.

Does anybody have a good program that I can sell? All I need is the programming done. I will make the .msi package to put it on a windows machine myself. All I need you to do is write a program for me. I will send you a cd with the self-installer ready for you to install your program onto your computer if your program is good enough for me to use.
Also send me a song with music written out. I will record it and make money off it, and I'll email you an .mp3 of it, ok?

Baby needed for fatherhood
I want to try making a baby, because everyone knows that real geeks only have kids so they can have friends. So I'm looking for a woman I can make pregnant. I've got a bed in my bedroom and two good testicles as well as a penis.
Problems I have:
- Woman needs to be female, since I'm still a geek I will need proof of this by way of proper idenitification. My parents are probably gonna wanna see it, so a Birth Certificate will do.
- Female must be human.
The female gets photos of the child every birthday if I manage to get her pregnant and she gives birth

Asking someone to write a script for a movie is a legitimate request.
If you think directing a short film is as easy as compiling some code for Windows, you need to get away from the computer for a while.
Unfortunately I don't have any short film scripts and I've been a little preoccupied with other stuff to write one.
If the 50 word fiction thread hasn't piqued your interest, perhaps you should try the 5 minute fiction thread (http://forums.zgeek.com/showthread.php?t=25774) and PM anyone who has a story you like.

If you think compiling some code for Windows is as easy as directing a short film, you need to get back to the computer for a while.I'm not going to pretend this is an argument. Anyone a geek site complaining about the insane complexity of selecting Project -> Build is obviously trolling.
This is not the forum for trolling.
I'm not going to go all nazi mod on your arses just because you're not paying out on anyone's personal work, but rather on someone who has made what I consider to be a perfectly acceptable request.
Just remember to play nice.
Since writing is my weakpoint, I figured I'de ask a few people who have a talent for it.
Projects are not accomplished by one person, but a collaboration of different people, doing different jobs.
And since I have all the technical equiptment and skill to make a movie, I thought that I'de find someone with the literary skill to script a movie.
I wasn't demanding someone to write me a script but asking whether anyone had a story that they had written, and wouldn't mind it being turned into a show.

Do you need to write the script? Why not just write out 1 or 2 lines about things you have seen in movies or would like to. It sounds like you are doing a school project of some sort. Once you have these points you can sit down with the people you would like to be in the movie and expand on what you have. I am sure one of these people has a some script writting abilities. I Know a few people who make sort movies and most of them work on each others projects. Depending on whose movie it is they take different roles. The guy I work with has written scripts, acted, edited, produced & driected movies. Its all away of improving creativity.

Short, sweet and to the point, easy to film. Even easier to act very nice.
Thanks everyone
Marshall77 - I've "called a meeting" with all my friends the day after tomorrow and we'll try to get somewhere
djgcorporation - I love the script. Greate idea, but mind if I make a few small adjustmints of my own?
