Anyone have suggestions for current books in print that deal with how the Australian political system works: local, state, federal and the senate.
And also one on the history of Australian politics.
I'm after a little 'light' reading while sitting on the shitter and I couldn't think of two things that would go together better.
It's for the purposes of self-education and getting a bit of an overall grasp, so nothing resembling too much of a text book would be a good start.

I think I have some books from first year on Australian politics in my study, but they're textbooks. I'll check around if you're interested?
Otherwise, try raiding the Uni library?

Just get a year 12 legal studies book or some such. It's a pretty basic system, I'm sure the gov websites would probably have something explaining it.
