what script did you end up using???

i used http://www.aleadsoft.com/searchmaker/index.php and ran it through virtual pc, its not free but its very very good.

Nutch (http://lucene.apache.org/nutch/) , built on the apache lucene project, is incredible. You'll need a servlet engine, such as tomcat, but it's that good that it's worth the extra software install.
