The only problem with having a kid with really good taste in music is that I can't ever find any of my CDs because he swipes them all. It started with the Zeppelin, then the Floyd, Carmina Burana, Wagner... Hell, I had to demand the return of my Jefferson Airplane CD.

I would never argue that point, I am damn proud of him. I just wish that he'd take the time to at least burn one of us a copy! I like the "sound of silence" but life without LedZep is annoying.

There is still all the vinyl also, stacked in the family room. There used to be 3 full crates, but an old roomate swiped almost a full crate full. What really blows my mind is that all that vinyl, weighing in at about 150 lbs (300Kg?) can be compressed into a 4oz iPod.

But does it sound as good? Hell no.

EDIT: I've been corrected in my "intelligent units" to pounds conversion. 2.2 Kg to 1 lb, thus about 70Kg. Apparently I was going backwards, not an uncommon thing for me to do.

sweet. i acquired my mom's copy of donna summer's live and more on lp along with her barry manilow live in britian.


i just looked at some of the other lp's (haven't looked at them for some time). one copy of brigadoon and three copies of west side story (UA-mono, Colombia-stereo, and Capitol-mono), plus various artists on lp from the 60's.

i still think vinyl is the best recorded sound. i came across 400+ lp's that an old tenant left behind. alot of it is country, which i like. one set is 76 double lp's chronicling the history of country (1900-1980) on red vinyl from the franklin mint, that has never been played.

Mobile Strip Club Busted at Bucs Game, Police Say
Six Women Performed Lap Dances, One Patron Smoked Marijuana

TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 29) - A 40-foot motor home was converted into a strip club on wheels, offering alcohol and lap dances to football fans outside the stadium before kickoff of Sunday's Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, police said.

Six women performed lap dances inside the motor home, charging $20 to $40 depending on whether they danced topless or totally nude, police said Tuesday. The vehicle, adorned with a sign for strip club Deja Vu, was parked across the street from Raymond James Stadium.

Patrons paid a $20 cover charge and were served alcohol, said Tampa police Sgt. Bill Todd. Officers also caught a male patron smoking marijuana in the back of the vehicle.

"We determined this was the fourth game this season where they had done this," Todd said. "I don't understand what justification they think they had, bringing this to a family environment like a Bucs game."

Police charged all six dancers with being nude where alcohol is served, and with being nude in a commercial establishment, misdemeanor violations of city ordinances. Two of the strippers who police said engaged in sex as part of the show each were charged with a misdemeanor count each of performing an unnatural and lascivious act.

Three men connected to the club were charged with selling alcohol without a license and conspiring to violate beverage laws. One of them owned the motor home and was also charged with renting space for lewdness. All are misdemeanors.

Undercover officers raided the bus after seeing people hand out fliers advertising the party onboard, Todd said.

An attorney for the club, Luke Lirot, said he doesn't think the alleged city ordinance violations will stand up in court.

"The fact that this doesn't take place at a specific business location would render those charges inapplicable," Lirot said, likening the bus to a tailgate party where people share beverages.

He said Deja Vu managers parked the "party bus" across from the stadium to advertise their club's permanent location.

Lirot said the business should not be punished for promoting exotic dance, which he called a form of expression protected by the First Amendment. As long as partygoers exercise discretion and do not violate state statutes, "what goes on in the bus should stay on the bus," he said.

Well Folks, the puppy Verina is officially missing her playmate. SOC has departed the Chicago area aboard a BA flight for London. I have to say that he is indeed a good guest, has excellent taste in wine, appreciates good food, and tolerates Old Grumpy Dogs, (Schon only bit him once in the foot), hyper-spaz puppy, 16 year old kids and Grumpy ranting me, pretty damn well. He managed not to piss my wife off even once, which is an amazing feat in and of itself. And in all his wanderings around Chicago we only lost him once briefly. He got to freeze his ass off in the Chicago (almost) cold, and even got to play in the snow.

If there was something secret about that plan, we can't figure out what it was. I used to live in Dallas, which is where Barney started. I could be wrong. Anyway, saw way too much of Barney and there was a lot of people at TI that had "Die Barney Die" posters in their offices.
