I'm dying to know who that is... considering its black and white I think it looks pretty fucking fantastic.... but i've always loved shadows....
as was pointed out to me though, looks a bit grainy.
the last one was obviously using the best quality equipment though.

Its still kind of 'nice' but not 'arty' more 'sex'.

look at how FOCUSED it is... very little grain, such great colours... mostly its the focus.

the photo does not have puffy nipples
plus, rope girl was a fake and they were never her breats.

what makes you say that?
The image has less noise at a high resolution. Not impossible to do, but I'll give the photographer the benefit of the doubt and assume its not a config issue with the camera. :P
Shooting the macro-style shot (with the subject at close range and a tight focus, and blurring as you go to the background) is a lot harder on a happy-snap camera.
The light sourcing is a lot nicer on that shot too. Its a lot softer and diffused, which smacks of having more dedicated gear.
While I realise the light sourcing on the shadow image isn't meant to be soft, it still looks more like a "lamp with the shade removed" light source than a dedicated piece of equipment. But maybe that's part of the idea.. :)

considering its a d100 at the highest iso and the focal length is 85mm but the arpeture is 1.8 you can tell what kind of lens is on the body. excellent use of dof, technically deserves to win.
an 85/1.8 will always produce a narrow DOF. Its a good shot.
Well done all - pity there werent more entries.

exactly.
im commenting more on the 'most expensive gear' reference.
i can tell its a d100, im guessing the glass is nikkor if 1.4 85mm but could be wrong. maybe sapia has some inside information.
The image has less noise at a high resolution.
Not sure what you mean by this? How does the resolution of the image affect noise? (That image was shot at ISO200 - I'm surprised to learn this is the lowest ISO for the D100).
Shooting the macro-style shot (with the subject at close range and a tight focus, and blurring as you go to the background) is a lot harder on a happy-snap camera.
For the point and shoot cameras, this shallow DOF can be achieved by fully zooming. But yeah, a lot easier with a D100 (Nikon) shooting at 85mm (effectively 127mm when you factor in the D100's crop factor), not too mention shooting at f/1.8. Very shallow DOF.
The light sourcing is a lot nicer on that shot too. Its a lot softer and diffused, which smacks of having more dedicated gear.
I agree. But the same can be achieved with a halogen light on a stand ($40 from Bunnings) with a translucent sheet. Or bounced of the ceiling. :)

You can tell? Straight from the exif data right? If you can tell from the shot thats its a D100, then I am fucking impressed. f/1.8 is easy to pick, but the camera make and model!

yes exif data for d100, im assuming the lens is D as that shot looks 85 rather than cropped 127 on a non D, and its nice and sharp, theres not many lenses that go 85mm at that apeture.
sigma or tamron would just be too cheap, and i dont think they do one at that stop ;)

Not sure what you mean by this? How does the resolution of the image affect noise?
A Higher resolution on a smaller CCD normally causes the image to gain noise because the pixels are so closely crammed together so some interferance is caused from one pixel to the next as they develop diffrent voltage levels accross the pixels.

Entry #4 is very cool. It got my vote.
I just can't believe how much like a comic babe the shadow looks. I mean it's not physically possible to look like a comic babe, but the angle used exaggerates all the right things (and I'd say the model would have to have been rather fit herself ;)).

Remember, Nikon dSLR's put what the lens appears to be, not what the lens is stamped with, in the EXIF data. This is something I've come across a lot over recent years.
So unless it was a D lens, it will be a 50mm.
The only way to know what length lens it is (without grabbing a calculator) is to ask the photographer.

Same :D The angles do a lot for the picture and the shape of the model. I think the direction the light is coming in from too gives a nice effect :)

Maybe, but I'd love to get my mits on a d50mm or a 35mm prime at f1.4-1.8
Sadly I have seen the prices, and they scare me...

Hopefully people don't mind... my thoughts on the pics.
Entry 1 - Minorproblems Hairy Boobies
Hahahaa... Love a sense of humour. Nice!
Entry 2 - Ultrasound
Looking at an idea from another angle is always good. At one point I wanted to take a photo of a Boobie Bird, but then realised I had NFI where to find them. I really liked this idea and shot.
Entry 3 - Silver and Blue
Nice, and was the first pic taken I think. Look into the ball ;)
Entry 4 - le ooby
Standout, and worth the win. My only change that I would do would be to crop a little tighter. The breast in the corner took away from the shot for me. Othars I spoke to loved that it was there though.
Entry 5 - Cowgirl
This is a shot that I was sure was stolen. Cute model, classic pose (i.e. looks comfortable, isn't actually natural) and clean lighting. Good shot.
Entry 6 - Drop
All I will say is that the title came from how the rope was arranged... I just dropped it on her. :)

T'was me. Thanks for all who voted!
I debated for ages about sending a shot with or without the foreground boob. I figured that there was only one boob visible in the shadow and the comp was for boobIES so I sent the one with two.
I took the shot at 1600 ISO to try and get an aged look but it didn't really work. It just added a lot of very tidy noise.
Congrats on all the other shots. Fantastic stuff from all!

I have to make one addition.
I didn't *take* the photo I submitted, although it was taken on my camera. I like blue, a lot, so I submitted it. It reminded me of the pierced orange picture almost every piercing parlour has hanging on the wall.
You can see the reflection of the persons hair and my camera in the piercing.... considering I was laying on my side... it would have been physically impossible for me to be reflecting back from that angle of my piercing.
