This isn't really an anouncment of an event, more of a humerous story about 2 geeks that got bored and then sort of lost.
BlueBoy and I are a the monday excursion of Krispy kremes, and Movis has to go to get on his train. Bluey and I go with him, so we can all track down some real food after the krispy kremes.
After walking to Town Hall from Wynyard, we decide to keep going, and end up at Central. We decide to keep going, and we take the right hand branch of the road where it forks at central. Neither of us knowing that this is the "Broadway" that I hear about from Sydney yuppy wanker types. It was a decided let down.
We keep walking till we get to a pub that blueboy said he ended up at on a pub crawl once, where they started at darling harbour and went the same way we just had to get to this pub, then found out that ther was a more direct way. We decide to take this more direct way, and we end up near the fishmarkets, and decide to take a shortcut through the fishmarkets. After wading through heaps of seagullls we find ourselves under what I think was the ANZAC bridge, I'm not sure, it's hard to tell what a bridge is by looking at its underside.
After dodging traffic under this mystery bridge, we eventually work out where the bloody hell we both are after coming across the maratime museum. I think both of us breathed a massive sigh of relief. we wander around darling harbour for a bit. we discovered it's $27 to get into the aquarium, so decide to abort that idea. After getting back to George Street and back up to Wynyard, blueboy has a realisation that he may not be able to get the train he needs to Pirates house from Wynyard. So backtrack to town hall we go. Eventually Bluey and I get on our respective trains, after about 2 hours of random walking and relying on male sense of direction (and road signs) to work out where the hell we where going.
Whenever I go to Melbourne Bluey, we'll have to do it again!
