This isn't the first time I've had this brain-fart question. But for some reason it seems to me that people who use the internet and are addicted to knowing things are typically more intelligent to deal with than those who don't or don't know how. I can deal with stupid people or un-informed, or even mis-informed people. But my number one pet peeve in the world is a person who has no desire to know, or is unwilling to know more.

Anyways, anyone else have any good input on this? Links to studies would be nice too :)

I think Noddy is shining example of someone in the internet who doesn't want to know

"and are addicted to knowing things". Generally my personal classification of geeks. A guy that uses the internet a lot and doesnt have such a yearning to know it all, is more of a Troll to me :)

Then again, that guy at tops can only be 15-17 years old. Not saying that age is required for knowledge or true geekyness, but I havent met personally myself to many 'younger' true geeks. Most I know are 18+. Actually most I know are 25+. BBS/IRC Geeks.

Anyways. what really brings this up is becoming a rather ongoing problem in my life. I have a hard time holding conversations with people sometimes, particularly ladies because (sorry for any female readers here that are comfortably intelligent or geeky), most of them I cant even hold what would be considered an intelligent or informed conversation with. I mean, while that could be a lack of intrest issue, most of the time for me it seems to be a lack of knowing issue. They give me that 'wtf are you talkign about' look. Bugger. But, I cant blame that on ladies soully. The trend seems to be, guys like talking about girls and cars and bullshit, and the ladies about shopping and other girls and me.

I guess the real question would be, how much has being a geek corrupted your social life (if it has)? lol.

Anyways, going to go watch TV for the first time in a long time. Im out of town doing work, not a lot that I can accomplish from the laptop. That shit happens when you spoil yourself with multiple-monitor desktops at the office :)

Adios.

Girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money. Get some cars and money.

people always tell me i know alot of stuff, random facts, politics, history etc, and i generally seem to know more stuff on a wider range of topics than most people i deal with, and alot of it does come from reading things online

Geeks aren't getting brighter, lusers are just getting dumber:

"Life is a race between the programmers making ever more idiot-proof programs and the Universe producing ever bigger idiots. So far the Universe is winning..."
