Before we get flamming about how police are pricks ,
Ive been currently thinking to where i should go in life , having worked in warehousing most of my life , i have looked into joining the force .
Not only having a change in working path but also to have a role that can help alot in my/your local community .
Anyone here a Cop ?
It would be apprecited from any responses to this path
Whats the training like ?
How long you have been a Cop ?
or Do you someone that is one ?

I know heaps of cops, most of them are what are termed 'good blokes'. Fairly unimaginitve lot though and seem to be fairly happy to be predudice. I'm pretty keen on law-enforcment myself but could never join, I don't quite get along with most cops on a long-term basis.
Maybe spend some time at your local station and see if you can get along with the people there. It'll be a life changing job and you'll need to find out before you go.

my aunty was a cop
she was in country tasmania - then country victoria.
the majority of the time she spent dealing with domestics and suicides.
she left because she got over dealing with the absolute idiots out there beating each other up. (and they wouldnt let her into the AFP for some reason)
if there's a spelling test to get in, you're fucked.

hehe spelling test.
Does anyone remember that episode of michael moores the awful truth where he was contacted by a young man who didn't make it into the police force over in the US because he was 'too smart'. As in - he had done too well on the entrance exam and they refused him admission because of it, it was quite funny :D
I like cops in general, I don't think I've met one that was too hard to get along with. I just highly doubt it's something I could do career wise :o
::edit:: Mad-biker who sometimes chats in irc is a coppity cop cop

My brother is an officer. All I have to say is do your best not to become permanently jaded at people in general; my bro tends to see everyone as 'idiots', 'dirtbags', and 'scumbags' regardless of whether he's had to deal with them or not. He's still pretty easy to get along with, though.

Yeah I saw that. It was hilarious, they actually had him spend a week getting drunk and acting stupid then they took him back to do the test. The cops there refused him and said something like: "We do our best to enforce crime."
And then Michael Moore goes: "Enforce crime? WTF?"
my dad is retired cop, mum is a cop,
shes a youth liason officer and enjoys her job, shes been in for like 10 years and my dad was in for 30, training is long and hard but its worth it if you really want to be a cop

Read the post. He's still easy to get along with even though he tends to be down on people in general.

Given.
The point I was trying to make, which apparently needs to be spelled out, is that a job that deals mostly with the criminal and less-desireable elements of society tends to skew one's outlook on people in general, moreso than your average social deviant with defective genes.
Naturally, this is my personal point of view based on firsthand experience as I've known my brother all of my life. His time spent on the force has made hime a little more withdrawn, soft-spoken, and conservative than he used to be, as well as other interesting changes.

Cuntstubble causes a rash on your nose and chin when giving lengthy sessions of cunnilingus. So my advice is to make sure they're well shaved or waxed.
Oh, you meant "constable".
