Gday peoplez....

i was just thinking about this beautiful gormet* (*is that how u spell it?) burger i used to order when i used to work @ westpoint shopping centre in blacktown. The store in the old food court has closed down long ago since the shopping centre has been renovated/expanded lalala... anyways about the burger-

If my memory servez me correctly....

the ingredients included:

* 1 crusty hard bun with the sesames on top
* mashed up avacado (or guacamole... whatever rocks your boat)
* sundried tomatos
* 1 ball of mince beef (not sure how much meat exactly... larger than a golf ball anyhoo)
* sliced beetroot (i think? i ate it with and without without the beetz - whatever you want)
* 1 egg (i think it had egg? if you dont like it then leave it out)
* chopped up lettuce and cucumber.
* (onions if you wish...or not... oh well why not experiment!?! put in whatever you like... but this was how my beloved burger was when i bought it. there wasnt any cheese in this either, but once again... do what you want)

but if you wanna make it exactly the way i loved it the most, just use the avacado, mince, sundried tomato, cucumber, lettuce.

(also note that i didnt add any sauce!?? this burger was wierd like that... tasted so good with the avacado that it didnt need any!?

- Basically what you do is cut the bun in 2, thickly smear the avacado on the lower half as if it were jam or butter.

- on a bbq grill, flatten the ball of mince beef until its about the diameter roughly the size of a cd... so it should be pretty damn thin.

- while the meat is cooking, toast the inside of the top half of the bun on the grill

- stack in the lettuce and cucumber and sundried tomato on top of the avacado or any of the other veges you want 2 add in.

- once the meat is cooked, stack it in on top of the veges

- put the sundried tomatos , onions on top of the meat

place the top of the bun on top and thats it!

no idea of the fat content coz i never added butter in there... or salt or pepper... looked healthy (not sure bout the oil in the sundried tomato being healthy) but overall it was better than a bigmac... bigger than a bigmac anyhoo...

enjoy it!

sounds pretty good! the actual burger patty needs some work though! here's what I normally do when I make burgers:

* 500g premium mince
* 2 cloves garlic
* 1 onion
* 2 tomatoes
* 1 egg
* bunch of fresh coriander ( or any *fresh* herbs )
* sprinkling dried tarragon
* salt & pepper
* 1 small chili
* breadcrumbs ( not necessary, only use it if I want to make a few extra ).
* 1 round good quality camenbert.

finely chop all ingredients except for mince,egg, and half the cheese in food processor. Put this mix into large bowl with mince and egg, mix it up thourougly.

Split the mince into 8 even portions roll them into balls and flatten a bit. cut the remaining camenbert into quarters and push into center of 4 of the balls of mice. cover each of these with another ball of mince and join them together so the cheese is in the middle of 4 quite large balls of mince.

cook these on a grill ( George Foreman if inside, or grill side of BBQ if outside ).

DELISH!

Ahhhh cool, you bought the burgers premade ... I thought you'd just grabbed some mince, rolled it into a ball and cooked it :).
