OK, here is the deal guys, and girls. I am going out with a girl this weekend and have to come up with something to do. We have been to the cinemas a few times and she does not want to do this again so make it original. Am in Brisbane if that helps, nothing involving rubber cocks please.

Take her on a picnic some place nice and quiet, red & white checked tablecloth, bottle of champagne, strawberries, you know the drill. Some places even sell a kind of 'picnic hamper' to make it easy.
It's something nobody really thinks of but it worked well when I tried it.

I'm from Brissie too, and there's not all that much to do in Summer when it's this hot :(
Failing all else, ask her what sorta stuff SHE'd like to do, and do it (just make sure it doesnt involve shopping. If it involves shopping, RUN!!!).
You could always take her to The Bunker and play network games with all us geeks :)

Well, here's my suggestions - for what they are worth since I've never used any of them as a date.
If you want to actually do something, and your date likes hands-on science-y things, then why not go to the ScienceCentre? I always enjoy going there - especially that gyroscope thingy! :D
If not, there's always the art gallery or museum, followed by a walk around Southbank. The State Library (http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/whatson/index.htm) has displays and exhibitions that you can see too.
How about going to the races sometime (unfortunately, I don't know when the next local meet is).
Maybe you could go see some live theatre instead of mass-produced cinema - there are quite a few amateur theatrical companies around, for example Nash Theatre (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~docwhite/nash/index.html) (I've never been to the Nash Theatre, but I'm told it's OK.)
There's the Australian Digital & Video Film Festival (http://www.ausfest.com/) still going this weekend, and the St Lucia Orchestra October concert on this Sunday.
Most of these ideas come from Brisbane City Life (http://www.brisbanecitylife.com.au/bcl/wotson.htm).

I am with Greggle. Have a look at what is going on around Brisbane and pick something a little different that you both have never done before and you are both intreasted in.
City search is also good for letting you know what is going on, Also try lastminute.com as they sometimes have cheap tickets to sell. When I worked in ticketing that is where we sold off cheap tickets to the general public.
