I'm having a running discussion with someone in regards to immigration to Australia and I wanted to get a different view point to this discussion.
This is purely hypothetical. Say we have a young person (say, 18) from East Asia who wishes to reside in Australia. This persons parents live in East Asia and will remain there. This person has relatives in Australia - say a grandmother and an aunt and uncle or two who are Australian citizens. How difficult would it be, under the Australian immigration law, for this person to enter the country and become a citizen to live with his/her relatives and/or act as a carer for the elderly grandmother?
I'm asking this as opposed to finding an Australian and marrying them to gain citizenship via a spousal visa - I know neither would be an easy task but which do you think would be the least onerous?
