Saw this movie yesterday and I liked it. Can't really remember the book all that well (haven't read it since primary school) but I think it stayed pretty loyal to it. It was a bit different to the original movie (well, mini-series). I thought the witch in the other one was much better... But I enjoyed this movie still :)
Downloading it now, definatly worth seeing on the big screen though.

I thought it failed. i found it boring and tedious.

the last 30 minutes was ok though.

Agreed. Picked up towards the end. Kids came off whiny and annoying performances fairly sucked all around. Didn't think Tilda Swinton lived up to the hype, though she didn't have a great deal to work with and I am still a fan of her.

I loved it. And the Cheetahs in the battle scenes were awesome. And that witch was evil as all get out.

One of my friends gave me all of the Chronicles of Narnia books for Christmas and I just finished reading them all - I found the last book particularly interesting in the way Lewis handled other religions (via the Calormenes/Tash) and the question of those who didn't believe in Aslan at all, also in the way he showed death.

As for the movie, I thought it was great, apart from the retarted surfing-on-ice-in-the-frozen-waterfall scene.

This isn’t a childrens’ movie and imo it should never of tried to be. I want to hear what parents have to say.

I'm a parent. For 10 yrs old kids it was fine. Maybe a bit scary for 5-6 yrs old. My 2 year old loved it because of the animals in the film, and I turned her around during scary parts.

I saw it, thought it was good, but yeah i agree picked up more towards the end. I was familiar with the book from my childhood, so had that aspect of remebering things. But it was just lacking something that films like Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potters have. I dunno, just the whole engaging, interest or something that brings the film above a good film to something special. Maybe as a result its the directors first live action film. But i'll be looking forward to the sequels.

the girl that played susan was crap btw. ugly too.

It was a good movie actually, I thought it would be faggy.

I really liked the war scene at the end, especially with all the birds.
