Firstly, I have to give this game an award. TC:SONY is the only game that has managed to freeze my gamecube. Even the reset button was disabled. I would have waited longer to see what else the game could do, but the black smoke that started pissing out of my cube demanded action.

Luckily, the cube escaped with no long lasting injuries. Unlike the review of the piece of crap I'm about to give.

Some of you may be aware of the first tittle, True Crime: Streets of L.A. that game was awesome. Some would argue that it was better then Grand Theft Auto. I would be one of those people. However, this next instalment in the True Crime series, just made me look like a dick.

In TC:SONY, you play a detective/criminal. You start by being a street thug and going on a murdering rampage. Then your cop friend turns up and tells you that this is the last time he is going to "cover" for you and off you go into the sunset. Dang I wish I had cop friends like this. You would believe the amount of shit I got into just sniffing some strange girls undies...err...anyway...
Cut to five years later, and you are now a proud new detective in New York!

Basically, you can now be a good cop or a bad cop. You can cruise the streets either helping or extorting. Its great!

Graphics are good, but buggy as hell. Walls seem to flash for no reason when you walk by them, posters magically disappear and re-appear, you change fighting mode and your gun stays in your hands, these are just a few example of the lovely "graphical" errors awaiting you in this game.

Music is great. Heaps of songs that you can select to play more often or not according to your tastes. You can even purchase more music from stores around the place.

Voice talant is awesome. Christopher Walken plays your cop friend who lets you get away with basically anything, while Laurence Fishburne plays your father. Some other famous actors here, but not really worth mentioning.

As a New Yorker once said to me when I got stabbed and asked him for help "Aaay, forget about it!".

It seems to me that Activision gathered up all that was good with the original game, put in on the floor, dropped their pants and took a massive, chunky peanut riddled shit on the game.
Gone are the quick tracking gun shot, replaced by controls that require an acrobatic effort to accomplish.
Gone are the awesome target practice ranges where you can shoot up all your new weapons without any hassles, replaced with.......nothing.
Gone are the smooth gameplay, replaced with a constant slow motion movement that gives me a headache after only five minutes of play. Nice one there dickheads.
One a side note, being a programmer I think I know what they did here. They just lumped in all these great new features onto the existing game engine, and then did even bother to tune gameplay engine up. So all these new feature that are suposed to make the game better, just help to emphasize how shit it really is.

One question to Activision: Did you cocks even bother to beta test this game?

Another thing about this game that annoys is the good cop / bad cop meter. I like to play a good cop, but when I go driving, I admit it, I like to hit people. Forget about it in this game! Each time you kill an innocent, you lose 10 good cop points. When racing, I have lost over one hundred points in the space of a few seconds when another rams me off the road into people. IT WASN'T EVEN MY FAULT!!

This game is rife with them. Here are a few examples of the many things that pissed me off about this game.
Once, I was sitting in my cop car, on a side road with no traffic. I was edging forward very slowly when my car jumped into the air spinning about, then landing me into a freeway about ten kilometers from where I was. Why? Karma I guess?
This next one happens all the time. You get your car, you go for a disturbance call inside a building. Then you enter the door. Instead of going into the building, you re-appear outside minus your car, your weapons and your patience. Oh, and because you cant get into the building, the crime remains unsolved forever until you re-load. This is ultra annoying as no new crimes will appear. What. The. Fuck.
And now my favourite error. You get out of the car and the game slows down ever more, then pauses then craps it. DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT $200. Reset, what? It doesn't work either? Wow!

Stay away from this game like a bad case of herpes. Its not worth it. In fact, this game should be given to people you hate as big "FUCK YOU!" present. Nothing says I hate you more then a game that not only doesn't deliver, but cause your system to crash constantly.

How the hell did this title ever make it out of Activision? Seriously, I want to know. Why did they kill everything good in this game? In the original they had a game that could easily rival GTA. But now, what do they have? A puddle of shit. Good work guys! Keep up the great efforts!

Oh, and I want a fucking refund you assholes!

Yeah, I kinda figured it would suck after the massive advertising campaign it got.
