err... stuck in a bit of a rut i guess.
I'm looking to go into the traffic management/road design side of things (I'm assuming drafting woul dbe the place to start?). A Civ Eng grad friend told me since I know what I want to do I'd be better of with a 2-year TAFE course than sitting through the whole 4 years at uni.
Problem is, I've been put on the standby list for tafe - I'm guessing this is cause i have absolutely no connection to Civ Eng, job or education wise.
So I'm starting to look at apprenticeships, have this is what I've come across - http://apprenticeship.det.nsw.edu.au/html/cibs/268.htm
I know technically there isn't a question in this post, but I guess I'm looking for advice on how to go about this...
Thanks

well, this question is a bit difficult for me to answer because my familiarity is with engineering in the us. my best suggestion is track down one or two people who do the work you are interested in pursuing and go talk to them. it helps you two ways, you get the info you need on which direction is best and you make a contact in the industry.
