Went and saw this movie yesterday,
Whilst im no film critic, i will say its a better spielberg movie than some of the other crap he has released,
like to gauge anyone elses view on this movie

well someone was going to say it, might aswell get in first...


i dont know, i have read things about the bending of the truth, changing of events, omissions etc. of the mossad agents killing innocent people. Also that it gives the impression the olympic hostages was the start of the whole on going thing.. and so forth...

But i havent seen the movie, i will go see it though, but generally from what i gather is, its well made, but over rated because people think it should be really good and they should there for like it.

This morning i watched a small doco on the real facts behind this movie/event. According to the doco, the whole palestinian and israeli rivalry didnt start because of this event, however it stirred it up more and took the tension high up, similar to the whole 911 thing. With the innocent people being killed by the mossad agents, the first case of that was when one activist was shot through a door but also the activist's wife was taken out too which was meant to not happen. But the biggest case was when they were trying to take out the leader who was behind the whole olympics hostage event. They were tipped off that he was at a norweigan ski resort which he was. But the intelligence agents made an error in comparing the photos to the real person and ended up killing a man that looked suprisingly very similar to the leader.

It was shown from an Israeli point of view, but it did try to incorporate both sides of the story, which I think it did fairly well.

About half an hour too long. The final sex scene was pretty weird as well with old mate coming to scenes of the Israeli's getting murdered, but whatever floats your boat.

Eric Bana was really good I thought, although I kept waiting for him to don the mullet and wife-basher, grab a carton of VB and give us some good old Poider (not sure how he actually spells it)
