Watched this fantastic 80's flick again the other day and fell in love with it. There's just something about cheesey 80's flicks. Have to say though there's an element of B grade in there too that makes it extra cool. ;)
"I just had the most interesting conversation with Ms Dumptruck!"

Not as good as some Troma films but still, a definite blast from the past that I enjoyed.

So what B grade or horrible 80's flick do you think people should watch? :)

Heathers is a classic.

Apart from all the brat pack ones; check out Better off Dead and Fast times at Ridgemont High.

Ah, Jefah and I reminisced about 80's movies in a drunken state - I felt all warm and tingly and retarded (and old).
But he's lamer.

But I think "Deep Rising" has gotta be one of the bestest and cheesiest. This film had it all - terror on the high-seas, ppl being sucked into giant worm-like tentacle thingos to be slowly-digested-over-a-thousand-years, terrorists, guns... about the only thing missing was aliens dropping in for it too! And of course - you're usual formula-movie characteristics; The hero guy who just trying to go striaght and get his kids back, the hot chick, the nerdy comic relief guy... Probably only out on VHS/VCD though :(

Better off Dead

Is that the one where the guy keeps pretending to kill himself all the way through?

Better Off Dead (1985) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088794/) - John Cusack having a very shitty day... Paperboy giving him hell... Can't quite recall if he tries to top himself all the way through though.

My picks (demonstrating a destructive teen life):

The Pirate Movie (1982) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084504/) - Words can't describe. Must see!
Class (1983) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085346/) - Oh yeah!
Sixteen Candles (1984) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088128/)
The Breakfast Club (1985) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088847/)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091042/) - ALL TIME FAVE!
Pretty In Pink (1986) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091790/)
The Lost Boys (1987) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093437/)
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0096764/)
Dream A Little Dream (1989) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097236/) - The two Coreys classic

Should I be ashamed? :D

Edit: Oh Ms you beat me again!

The Lost Boys still has all its charm.

Steer clear of The Outsiders though. A steaming pile of poop that doesn't get better with age.

The king of B-grade movies (although it was released in the 90's) is Evil Dead III - Army of Darkness.

How about the 80's remake of "Little Shop of Horrors"?

Better Off Dead (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088794/) - John Stamos having a very shitty day... Paperboy giving him hell... Can't quite recall if he tries to top himself all the way through though.

That wasn't John Stamos...,. was John Cusack

He tries to kill himself because his Highschool girlfriend, Beth, dumps him for Roy Stalin, the Ski Patrol dickhead.

anyway....... best quote ever:

I really like that movie called Stand By Me, it had the late River Phonex, Cory Haim and Felderman, Keither Sutherland, Will Wheaton, and a few others I cant remember, was a Steven King book made into a movie.

Nope. It's the cheesey B grade sci-fi/horror done in 1999. :) It has Jamie Lee Curtis, William Baldwin and a string of semi no namers. ;)

If you like "Better Off Dead" then you should also get "The Sure Thing", John Cusack playing a very similar character.

And the movie with the guy constantly trying to (pretend to) kill himself could be "Harold and Maude". But thats like 60s or 70s.

My fav quote from Heathers.

Well, fuck me gently with a chainsaw. Do I look like Mother Theresa?
