30k for sydney? Isn't that pretty much stuff all?

I started on more than that in Adelaide as a n00b software dev (with Comp Sci Hons).

Pay in Sydney isn't that much more on the whole than the rest of Australia.

Yeah, if it was more than 30k, I'd apply, but yeah - don't think i could handle a pay cut like that...

They seem to be looking for people just out of college who want a start in IT by the sound of the job and pay. Seems like a cool start though.

you're not gonna get anyone with "a little bit of experience with Linux and Windows system administration" for 30 thousand beans. you'll be lucky to get anyone who knows what the fuck linux is.

Yeah, its fuck all.

I started on 32k... I won't accept less than 40k now and I don't even have any qualifications. Only 3ish years of first level support experience, and 4 years of full time work experience. I don't even have my HSC (which is something they list as a requirement for the job).

Keep in mind, this is 30k+super.. so works out over all a $33k package.

Also, this is an entry level job and this is a really good opportunity to enter this industry with a 12-18month expection to move into a system administration role.

As it happens, due to recent growth another opportunity has arisen.. If you feel you meet the requirements of the original job offer, please do not hesitate to apply.

It's alot harder to find a decent trained software developer then a first level tech support that's why you got paid more. Most first level technical support only requires the ability to read of a screen (not all of course).
