Just downloaded this last night, It looks good so far ( mind you it is only the first 10 mins) I normally do not like Nicholas Cage but this has Ethan Hawke in it which gives the movie some kind of cred for me.
Anyone else seen it?

Yeah it's pretty good actually. Nic Cage and Ethan Hawke are half decent in it, Eamonn Walker is brilliant and Bridget Moynahan is gorgeous, but Jared Leto absolutely SUCKS in this movie... I think he forgot which film he was in.
If it had taken itself a little more seriously it would be on the Syriana level, but the tone of the film betrays itself, it's not as serious as it could be. Still, the final 5 minutes are pretty chilling.
The intro scene that follows the bullet from factory to head is pretty well done.

Oh yeah... the way they did it was still good, but the message won't stick around in people's heads, they won't take it as seriously.

Yeah I've seen this and thought it was ok. You're right in thinking the message won't get through to that many people but maybe it will. Hey it was meant to be a big action/shot em up film and the added story was a plus I thought.
Besides Bridget Moynaghan is soo fine to not watch.

I thought it was ok. It reminded me too much of Blow and other similar movies though. The voice over thing was kind of annoying. Nicholas Cage seems to be in a lot of voice over internalization movies lately like Anchorman...Otherwise it was pretty good.

I thought it was good. Kind of true to life unlike so many US films.

I liked it a lot, although not because of any political message it offered. I liked it because it was plain old funny, well filmed, and interesting. I don't think it really opened my eyes to anything I was unaware of, or changed my way of thinking about things.
Above average movie, I recommend it. Plenty of action, and good plot to go with it. Plus the political message tops it off.

Nicholas Cage seems to come out with one decent movie for everytwo that he makes. This one is a cracker.

I very much liked it. Thought provoking in parts...although still too much of an American action movie to be taken seriously.
