WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide told prosecutors that President Bush authorized a leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case. The filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald also describes Cheney involvement in I. Lewis Libby's communications with the press.

I wouldn't say starting a war based off of KNOWN faulty intelligence would be called political gain. Treason might be a fun word to throw around?

Um, your first post asserts it was for political gain. And he did get re-elected off it so I'd say it worked.

And if you really want to talk about doing things for political gain we could have a chat about you posting misleading thread titles. Libby didn't claim Bush authorised anything, he claimed that Cheney had told him that Bush had authorised the leak.
