The good old Banana Smoothie has been a long time favourite of mine, so I am proud to present my personal recipe for it, developed through years of experimenting. I suppose it's still in development and always will be, but it's now reached a point where it's unique enough to call it my own (ha!).
The measurements are only approximations, as I usually go by what looks right.
Also, the Whey Protein powder is completely optional, though it does contribute to the texture slightly. I use it because I have one of these after a workout at the gym. I use an unflavoured natural whey protein powder that I buy by weight at a health food shop.
Put into a blender in this order;
1/2 cup of ice
1-2 bananas (depending on size), chopped
*2 tbsp Whey Protein powder*
1/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Blend that sucker for a good few minutes, until it's completely smooth. You may have to pulse a few times in between to get the ice chunks chopped up. Play around with the amounts to your liking; it's only a rough guide, the measurements are complete approximations. Consistency wise, it's better to make it too thick and add a bit of extra milk to thin it out to your liking. It's really hard to thicken it up if it's too thin.
Enjoy!
