Vodka is good to. So many ways to have it.
What are your favorite spirits?
What ways do you like to have it?

Rum is a spirit distilled from sugar cane juice in the case of white rum and molasses for dark rum. Port is indeed a fortified wine.

Absolutely can't stand brown liquor, the only exception to that being canadian club. I literally can't even smell whiskey without wanting to huarf.
I do like a good white rum though.

*nods* I have several sake sets at home and usually a bottle or two of sake in the house. It's great stuff and easy to drink... especially in winter.
Whenever I go to Koume or Kyushsu I make sure I take a bottle of Sake with me. They warm it up for you and bring it the table flask by flask. :D :D
Best use for a microwave ever = warming sake. ;)

Rum and then rum.
Interestingly...
Rum in colonial Australia
See Also: Rum Rebellion
Rum became an important trade good in the early period of the colony of New South Wales. The value of rum was based upon the lack of coinage among the population of the colony, and due to the drink's ability to allow its consumer to temporarily forget about the lack of creature comforts available in the new colony. The value of rum was such that convict settlers could be induced to work the lands owned by officers of the New South Wales Corps. Due to rum's popularity among the settlers, the colony gained a reputation for drunkenness even though their alcohol consumption was less than levels commonly consumed in England at the time.
When William Bligh became governor of the colony in 1806, he attempted to remedy the perceived problem with drunkenness by outlawing the use of rum as a medium of exchange. In response to this action, and several others, the New South Wales Corps marched, with fixed bayonets, to Government House and placed Bligh under arrest. The mutineers continued to control the colony until the arrival of Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1810.

So I usually drink vodka mixed with fruity flavours.

Actually, though vodka is often potato, it doesn't have to be; rye is also used I'm pretty sure. Vodka means "water" in some Eastern-European language..
Whiskey is indeed made from wheat but bourbon is usually made from corn.
Tequila is a type of Mezcal. Mezcal is made from agave leaves; tequila is made from blue agave leaves near the town of Tequila. Also, tequila doesn't traditionally have worms in the bottle, but mezcal does.
isnt grey Goose like $400 a bottle
About $80-90, actually.
I drink:
Bourbon
Good examples: Evan Williams single barrell, Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek
Whiskey
I have some JW Blue here but it's a bit hardcore for me, and I've been drinking whiskey for a while now. Gold is nicer.
Rum
Mount Gay Extra Old is awesome.
Tequila
I just drink Jose Cuervo but am itching to try some nicer ones.
Vodka
Absolut and Smirnoff in a pinch, don't like Stolichnaya and haven't had enough Grey Goose to form an opinion.
Question: What absinthe are you guys drinking? I've been wanting to import some real stuff (not the knockoff shit) but haven't been prepared to drop a hundred bucks to find out.

I'm a bourbon, scotch and rum drinker.
I'm not a fan of vodka or gin at all.
Bourbon's, I'll drink anything from Jim white, to wild turkey 1855 reserve. Good luck finding that, it don't exist anymore. It was like sex turned into bourbon.
Bourbon has to be made from corn, and made in kentucky, otherwise it can't be called Bourbon. Jack Daniels is esentially bourbon, but charcoal filtered. Because it is made in Tennessee it can't be called bourbon. Not sure on the charcoal filtering. Bourbon is the most tightly regulated spirit in the world.
Scotch whiskey is made from malted barley, and double distilled.
What Canadian club is made from, and Irish whiskey's currently escape me. Irish Whiskeys are, however triple distilled.

back in my day i was partial to scotch and brandy but my real favorite was rye whiskey. all the taste of bourbon without that irksome sweetness. my goin' out drink was gin and tonic after i dealt with the aftermath of a seven martini night once. >shudder<
now i only use these for cooking (but i still whip up a batch of cherry bounce (http://www.kleph.com/cook/2006/01/cherry-bounce.html) every year for the family at christmastime). this means i now keep a bottle of sherry, port and brandy on hand for various dishes. these are really good to cook with because after the alcohol burns off they give various sauces an infusion of taste (the trick is to use them at the end so this flavor isn't cooked away)

We went out to dan murphys the other day, and i was drooling over all the spirits.
if i am in a sweet drink mood, its likely to be malibu with pineapple. in a shotting mood, either vodka (LOVE Rossia - really hard to find, but worth it, about $50/bottle), or tequila. i also drink vodka (stolichnaya or better) with lime and soda. and if i want to get drunk really quickly - bacardi lime and soda - 3 bacardis and i am on my arse.
i cant handle the gold tequila, it bites too much - so i drink the cheap stuff... hehe
thats it really - malibu, baileys on ice (if i am in the mood), vodka, tequila and bacardi.
cant drink brown liquors... *barf*

Mmm Gin. My mom put me onto that. I like to have a Gin & Tonic with sliced lemon and lime wedges. Or in a Martini with two olives. Tanqueray is my favourite but Bombay Sapphire is also nice.
I also really love Canadian Whisky, which is made from Rye... I think someone asked that. Crown Royal wipes the floor with Canadian Club, see if you can get your hands on some.
I kind of like Rum, but only the dark, spiced variety.
Single Malt Scotch whisky is a delight. I dig the really smokey, peaty varieties like Laphroaig and Lagavulin.

"For the hangover, I know of no cure, though 100-year-old eggs might be worth a try."
"For breakfast, we bought a jar of baby bees, which looked like swollen rice seeds and tasted sweet but bland. I think they were the bee equivalent to lamb, rather than mutton. Then there grasshoppers - visibly so - which were crunchy and date-like. Finally came worms. They tasted - well, earthy - with a hint of juniper, like an old-fashioned gin."
