Well, I've sorted my job crisis (see my "first job" thread below). I asked my friend if the pub she works in had any vacancies had any vacancies and to my utter amazement, she phoned me the other day to tell me they did. So now I have a job working the taps.

So with that in mind, does anyone have any pointers, advice etc for when I start? I'm gonna get training and stuff but it'd be nice for some inside info before I start.

Cheers

Don't try to go too fast and always ask if you aren't sure. That's my awesome advice after a few beers.

never give away free drinks, even to your friends. never point at a customer. leave the cash on top of the till until you'vr given change, that way drunk people can't complain for long about "giving you a fifty, but only getting change for twenty". only one flaming lamborghini per customer (or other ignitible cocktail) even if it is their buck's night. don't fuck the barstaff, don't even look at your coworkers like you want to fuck them. barmaids are evil. wear comfortable leather shoes.
