This year will be the 5th annual global zmeet. No-one's started a thread on it yet so I thought I would.

So...dates? Locations? Events? Let's get an open dialogue happening on this so we can plan it. If it's in September (per tradition) we've got three months to go.

you can blame Weatherman and myself for that tradition. He suggested the first global zmeet and I said my holidays were about that time..or sometihing like that.

Also, note that my holidays this year are Sep 18-29.

I'd prefer september/october...

October with preference because november/december I've got family comittments, surgery planned, and more family comittments.

I would consider going to a melbourne zmeet.... It is more likely I won't because by this time I will have to be saving $2k for surgery and since I am a contractor i'll need to save up for the recuperation time i'll need to take off work as well...

The other thing is, there are far more (active) sydney zgeekers than there are melbourne zgeekers... So more of us will be travelling there, than more of you guys travelling here.

So you'll either get everyone trying to find crash space at your places in melbourne (and that can get quite crowded), or almost no one will go.



*edit* I just had blueboy point out to me that no one has specifically recommended melbourne.... but as if anyone would go anywhere else.

the last few yrs we have tried to organise day gatherings that are more family orientated as well as not being TOO expensive. some ppl dont have lot of spare monemy floating around, especially if they have just travelled interstate .
most of the serious money gets spent on drunken nights out / karaoke / hookers and drugs.
